I just downloaded the free trial one and nothing happens :-[ it won't do nothing????
Me to, but i haven't tried it until badge comes out, hope everything works out someone will figure it out for ya ::)
I found that to get it to work, you have to wiggle your mouse from the auto window to the checker board. Then it moves really fast. But if you stop your mouse, the auto stops as well.
It has never worked for me either. I have tried changing lots of things on my computer but just can't make this one work. Looks like a long day playing checkers for us.
:P
Homerbot says:
Please make sure to give as much information as you can when you have technical problems.
Here are some things that will help:
1) Operating system (Windows 98, 200, ME, XP etc)
2) Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, Mozilla, Opera etc)
3) Color setting (24 bit, 32 bit etc)
4) Screen resolution (800x600, 1024x768)
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts checked or unchecked
6) What Java you are using
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program
You get the idea the more information the better
dont mean to brag or anything but i downloaded the free trial and it worked fine for me no problems. ;)
BRAGGER!
/shakes fist ;D
listen to homerbot 8)
next time yall complain give ya info so home ror someone can help you
I didn't have a problem with it either, I was even able to hit the resign button and do various other things on my computer while it played for me. Which sometimes isn't possible with the other ones. :) Just one more badge to go for this week, I'd be done with Spider if it wouldn't keep kicking me out of the room with a nasty error message. Oh well, Pogo wouldn't be Pogo if it didn't have some sort of problem on Wednesday.
No problem here either it's an excellent program i loved it tysvm :-*
1) Operating system Window ME
2) Browser Internet Explorer
3) Color setting 32 bit
4) Screen resolution 1024x768
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts unchecked
6) What Java MS VM
7) Checkers starts, makes a few moves then an 'error' message pops up and shuts the auto off
Thanks if anyone can help :)
Giving my info does not help. The reply will be to "uncheck smooth fonts or change screen size" or something like that. All of the common things that are usually wrong with some of the auto's. I have tried them all. I have just resigned myself that some of them don't work on my computer. Like the mahjong auto. It doesn't work and nothing I do helps. The spider solitaire works and the auto looks the same as the other one. Go figure. I have tried to get help before and get answers like "I just tried it and it works fine". Um, ok thanks for the help. I usually learn more form other peoples posts and not mine. Not trying to be snarky just stating my opinion. ;)
Sry, momo, they will help, i however cannot sry.. so maybe by saying that mine was working well wasn't the proper thing to say I apologize.

Well if you are unwilling to give your system specs, Your not going to get much of an answer. Oh I see now, you have everything figured out already. Right?<sarcasm> Is it really asking too much to do? :(

Jinx, the only thing I see out of the norm is the fact you are using ME. I don't know if it is ME compatible. Maybe someone from badgehelp can verify this.
Thanks Homer...I can keep putting the auto back up and it makes a few moves then message pops up-just keep repeating the process long job 'auto' or manual :(
Must be an ME problem cuz im having same trouble - it runs a cpl moves and it the min. it make a jump move in ur favor and u get the +5 token graphic it causes a checkers.exe error and closes
1) Operating system - Windows XP
2) Browser - Internet Explorer
3) Color setting - 32 bit
4) Screen resolution - 1280x1042
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts - unchecked
6) What Java you are using Sun (but I switched to MS ? and it still didn't help)
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program
I have tried other screen resolutions but it made the image so big nothing fit on the screen. I have a large screen. Could this be the problem? The checkers auto does nothing when I start game. Same with the wordjong. Can it be the same problem? I have tried switching back and forth with both Java's too. Too much info? I really appreciate you trying to help. I didn't mean to hijack someone elses post. And my last reply was with a little sarcasm myself, Homer. ;)
By the way love a lot of the other autos. The new Jigsaw Detector rocks! Could not live with out the Aces Up or Mahjong ones either. I think you all are doing a great job. Keep up the good work. O0
Try changing your screen resolution to 1024x768
On your wordjong issues make sure you follow the intstructions on the badgehelp website download page for the auto.
I tried to change the screen resolution but it makes the image so big that the game is too big to fit on the screen. And with wordjong I have tried opening the auto first and tried opening the game first it still says "please start wordjong in your browser"..... what else could it be?
What size is your monitor? It should fit easily.
It's 19''. Should fit, huh. lol I downloaded the first one and it worked but I only used it a few times. Then I downloaded the new (big mistake) and that's the one that doesn't work. Is there any way to get the old one again?
I tried one more time to change the screen resolution but it didn't help. (Just an update) :'(
:) Don't know if this will help, Myself I downloaded the free trial auto for checkers and had no problems with it at all, Got the badge in about 45 mins, thanks
mine system set up: windows xp

I did max my screen also ran in normal screen, hope this helps
u wont mind playing the games yourself then momo?
Romeo, I don't think I asked you but, yes, I did play them myself. I wasn't complaining just trying to get help.

I have a 17" monitor and my game screen doesn't even take up half of the screen size on 1024x768. I don't see why the game won't fit in your monitors screen.

Try 1024x768
I figured out I was using 1280x768. (tee hee hee) I tried 1024x768 but it is still doing the same thing. Sorry to keep dragging this out so long. Maybe I'm beyond help.
Make sure the auto isn't covering the game board and try putting the mouse cusor anywhere on the playing surface without clicking the mouse.
Still the same with wordjong but on the bright side finding the right screen resolution (finally) makes the World Class Solo work great.
Where is it that you check to see if you have Smooth edges of screen fonts unchecked? I know I have seen it but I can't remember whey I saw it.
Thanks
My auto just does nothing. I have tried the wiggle mouse........no luck
