So I have a problem. I got a new laptop and I do not have microsoft VM on it.
It uses JAVA and I cannot turn it off. I want to install motzilla so I can double browse, and also it just seems slower booting up pages with the java on.
After reading some articles, I see that VM came with windows up until last July. But new computers that come with Windows do not include VM, I can get it off service pack 1, but once you have service pack 2 installed you cant install sp1.
I have looked for it online to install it but cannot find it.
Does anyone know what I am talking about and does anyone know how to get it????
Thanks in advance
Dannon,
Did you try this page?
Admin edit: I don't know what that link was, but it is not the official site use: http://www.java.com instead.>
Yes, I did and installed it. For some reason i cant get it to work
There is a link in our Club Center for both javas. You need to go into your internet options advanced tab to select which java to use. Don't forget to reboot when done. ;)
Thats the problem Homer, I do not have Microsoft JVM,nor can I install it having service pack 2 on a new machine.
On the new machines that come with windows, it dosnt include service pack 1, which means JVM is not included. All there is is sun java

im sorry dannon, i have to differ with you. u r rite about new machines coming with sp2 and sun java coz i have a new machine. ordered a dell after new years and got it at the end of january. it didnt have jvm. and this is where i have to differ with you, i had not a problem one installing jvm. as long as u click the rite boxes upon trying to install, u shouldnt have any problems. it only took about 60 seconds or so to install.
Just want to make sure you are doing it correctly. Just downloading that file does not install it. When downloading save the file to your desktop. Scan the file for viruses.(There shouldn't be any but you can never be too careful.) The files then need to be extracted by double clicking the file Click the appropriate answers to install the files. Then you need to go to:
You can tell if you have MS JVM by going into Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced in Internet Explorer and looking for something that says "Microsoft VM". It should be right under the Sun java section. The only thing you need checked is the box that says JIT Compiler. Click apply and ok and reboot. You are done.
I once was lost, but now am found.
Thank you.
My problem was I didnt see the link for JVM just SUN.
The rest was easy, thank you Homer and Smiles.
