according to the badge book word search daily has a badge for every state, and by the looks of the requirements to get them this game wont take long at all once the auto is out. even by hand it wont be hard
unless pogo limits the daily puzzles to so many a week but im not sure... looks like you get a new badge about every 30 to 40 games with 960 daily puzzles being the last badge..

I've seen someone get to rank 8? Strange. Mines stuck on Rank 5, won't advance any further. This game is so easy, did it all by hand
i am stuck on level 5 new jersey. I asked about vermont because it skipped over that badge.
i noticed that too rhino, go into the game award badge album and click each rank. there all out of order like one says win 120 games then the next one says win 90 you know pogo their not all there

Okay ran into someone on Maine already. He/she said that they exited out of Pogo and came back and all calendar was unchecked. However, mine is still ticked off as completed, so I dunno.

Hey Homer, I have that problem too as do a few others I spoke to. It's funny though, it freezes up when you're in the middle of Feb and then it won't reload when you go back in. I wonder if that's where you were when it happened to you?

It seems pretty clear to me pogo released it before the bugs were fixed.
LOL, the game AND the cheat have " bugs" but they were playable for me this AM. Got 5 badges and am 3 or 4 puzzles away from badge 6.
Not bad for a couple hours' worth of game playing, then auto babysitting.
BH will get it right long before Pogo does though. They almost always do. :))

Same for me....I froze on the blue golfball pattern....and it will reload to there....when you hit OK on the how to play screen......it never loads the puzzle...just stays on the blue golf ball pattern....so frustrating....so this is a pogo thing....I always seem to get stuck with a pogo thing....here we go again...
A friend sent me this little trick for Word Search ..
The secret to getting more than the 5 badges allowed is get a badge and then switch rooms. It will reset your calendar to June 26th.
Edit : It will only let you get 15 badges though with this "glitch".
Switch to easy setting the game seems to work in easy

I got the blue ball screen too. ( Hmm, that even sounds bad to a chick).
When it happened to me, I cleared all my Java applets and temp files and restarted my PC.
It cleared it right up... We KNOW how buggy the Java always is in new Pogo games.
Surely do wish I had known about the glitch. Dang!!!!!!

Don't do that unless you want to get behind 6 months.
If you clear your stats, it only resets your rank. You can't do the puzzles over that you already completed before you reset, so basically you'd be stuck at rank 0 still.

I got up to the 14th badge in my album. The progress is showing that it is still moving, but I am not getting the badges. Maybe when they fix this all the badges will pop up at one time, who knows. Doncha just love Pogo's new games! :)))
I did todays badge then the game froze up on me just like it did yesterday... stuck at the blue golf ball background waiting for it to load again - thought i was lucky since today's badge worked. I changed it to easy and it's still on the blue golf ball screen. what do I have to do for pogo to let me just get the first 5 badges? grrr >:(

It should say MSJVM which stands for MicroSoft Java Virtual Machine. It is another kind of java. Most people use sun java but you can also use this by installing the following file https://www.alibre.com/alibrelibraries/ftp/JavaVM/9xNT4/msjavx86.exe
After installing the file go to IE Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab
Uncheck your sun java and right below it under Microsoft VM put a check mark in the JIT Compiler box only. Click apply and ok to close windows and close IE.

Yeah that where I am at now feb 8 It won't load the puzzle anymore. It only take me to easy level.
i take it there is no point doing more than 5 badges aday ..if u do anymore and go up in ranks u still cant get those badges? the reason i ask that is that im on louisiana and i didnt get badges for kentucky ..ohio .. and tennesse

You have to decide for yourself whether you are willing to take the risk.
There are only 14 badges that can be won currently. You might be at rank 16 but if you check your badges you will see only 14 of them.

already tried that but its going up in rank but no badges for it after virginia ..so god knows :'((

Well after resetting my stats on this game (like and idiot) im finally back to rank 7 and going smooth on VM java... has anyone made it to the last badge in the badge book yet.. how far has everyone got using the reset tactic with VM

There is a glitch and if pogo had time to watch every word we said they would be outta business lol. anyway there is a thread about this already. you need to run VM java (microsoft java) instead of sun java and each time you go up a rank you just switch rooms and it will reset your calender back to the new day and all the days will be reset so you can keep climbing ranks.

You can continue doing ranks but you will only get 14 of the 50 badges

well technically your not supposed to be able to get more then 5 ranks for the last 6 months the name is word search daily so its gonna take years to get all the ranks doing 1 new puzzle a day this java glitch is just a way to get a few more ranks and badges faster.

restarted computer,
changed setting in the IE (ms on and sun off and restarted IE),
did a month of puzzles to get a badge
badge window popped up
i switched rooms
got into new room and June and May were still shows all days checked off.....
did i miss something?

when you unchecked sun and restarted IE and opened the word search game did it ask to install a word search.cab file or some sort of data file

Try dumping your cache.
Did all the usual stuff Homer-clear cache etc. , and I don't know what else to do :'((

The glitch doesn't work with firefox which uses sun java. You must use MSJVM and IE
not using glitch--can't even get game to appear period after 1 day of playing it.
Try clearing your prefetch files
OK this worked for a few people in a room i was in. if the game comes up but you dont see no letters this one person told everyone to change the difficulty to easy then close the game and then go into then room again. 3 people did it while i was in there and it worked for them

I almost forgot about that. I was having trouble with the puzzles showing but once I switched to easy no more problems. Difficulty doesn't matter unless you care about tokens and to be honest I find the JP spins on easy to be much more generous. Lot's of 250, 500 and 750 spins that I noticed.

Ok... does ths glitch not work anymore? I have my java set on msvm, always have... I have rank 6 and now I can't seem to clear anything in Feb. They are always checked no matter what room I go in. Anyone know what else I can try? :((
Make sure you don't have SunJava checked and make sure you have the game on easy.
I don't have sun java checked and I do play on easy... do you think they fixed it?

First, if you can tell me step by step what you do... When you first get into a room, is your month of Feb. all erased again? That is where mine is not. You have to make sure you have your SunJava unchecked and you have VM Java checked. When you go in a room it should have Jun 29th, I play until it gets into March and then I just leave the room and come back and play again. That's all there is to it. Make sure you are playing on easy.

This is what it should look like, although some people don't check the 3rd box and check the 1st and 2nd. All of my computers use this setting and I've gotten the 14 badges for 7 names with this setting. I don't switch back and forth or whatever people are saying. I use this setting, have my game on Easy, use auto and just leave the room when I get into March calender or Feb. Come back to same room and it resets the calender every time.

No, I had went all the way with my name but when I changed Javas it reset my calender. I just hit daily puzzle when I go in the room. What browser are you using?
I am using IE. I wonder if I change to sun, then change back to vm if that would do anything.
When I first get in a room it doesn't give me a choice it just starts me out on a puzzle. That is when I go up and hit the pic that looks like a calender. That is what I mean.
Ok do this...You have your java checked right, so reboot your computer and go back in. When you get in the room click Daily puzzle, then come back and tell me. Something little we're overlooking isn't working.
Ok... I am soooo annoyed now! I did everything you said, I rebooted made sure I have my settings right. The only thing I am not sure if I need to be doing something different, which I don't think is the problem here, is right when I enter the room, there is the ble box that comes up and say how to play at the top. Then down below it instructions, then the "OK" button. I hit that, it starts be out on a puzzle automatically which says at the bottom, that this won't count towards ranks. So I go up and hit either new game or that calender pic just to see if the check marks have gone off and they haven't.
I guess I am doomed and just have to do it the normal way. I soooo appreciate your patients and trying to help me Tara! Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!
Your welcome. Sorry I don't understand why it's not working for you. The only other thing I can think of is, to delete your VM java and download it again. Homer posted a link for it somewhere in here.

Maybe peoples VM java isn't any good or something. I wish I knew how to delete it and then I know the link to get it is on here. That's the only thing I can think of for both of you.

I have been using the auto for word search daily with IE6 it works ok but you have to babyset it when you get to a new rank it will not click on it oh yes I am using ver 1.4 with msjvm this morning I decided to try FireFox with sun java and it works great goes fast don't have to babyset it . it solve a puzzle in about 5 sec it does the glitch it works foe me

My problem is I was all done all my days were checked off on calender and I went into room to do the days puzzle and my months(days) were inchecked.

Please be informed that "Word Search Daily" game has not been released as yet. We conduct final testing of games when we release them to the public, before we make links to them available on the Pogo™ website.
Meanwhile, you may use "Preview" link to play the game before we link the game to the main page, players who do this must be prepared for issues with the game, as it's still considered in its final testing stages at that point.
However, before we officially place a permanent link to a game from the Home page, players may find it linked from My Favorites. The games can be played this way, but players who do so with such games must understand that the game is still in a testing phase, so problems should be expected. This means there is a good chance during this phase that any stats, tokens, and/or ranks earned may be messed up or lost. We do not immediately or directly address any issues or problems experienced during this phase.

I just downloaded the auto this aftrnoon, not changing anything Java wise , only thing I have seen twice is a window that says cannot award my 'gift tokens' . Any ideas?

Does anybody else wonder about Pogo's engineers?? This game was obviously supposed to be released on January 1st, 2007. Which means this game was over 6 months late. LOL

I agree with you... because that is the way it was set up in the beta testing when we were testing it.
ok, i am having a little different problem, i am going into the games (rank 32) & when i click the game it says this will count towards your badge, however it tells me i am -45 games to next badge, if i leave & come back in when i finish the first game it says congragulations you've just reached 32, i finally got tired & went to another game, has anyone else run into this, i am using ie7, & msvm. & i have had no problems until now >:((
It's going to tell you that when you get to Rank 32. After Rank 32 it starts giving you the subtracting number like other games have done in the past. Just don't play anymore because you can't rank up anymore. That's how high it goes for now.

BE CAREFUL!!! It doesn't work for everyone. I am the sad living proof.. even deleted my stats.
However, since this is one of the very few games ( Jigsaw Detective being the other) which seems to isolate badges, I feel fairly confident that at least I will get badge 7 at the end of July, etc etc. All my completed puzzles are still check marked.
Sometimes, it's harder to cheat without an auto to do it for us than just to play. Sigh vacation58.gif
PS- I THINK my mistake was using Sun Java first, then trying to use MS VM. That's because my PC didn't even come with MS VM and I wouldn't have it if Homer hadn't provided a link. TY Homer. I have read though the entire thread and I apologize for asking the same question that has already been asked, but I am hoping there may be a new answer. I can't get the glitch to work for me. I tried everything...unistalling, reinstalling, clearing cahe, cookies and history, rebooting you name it. Any idea why it is working for so many others and I can't get it to work for me? this may not have anything to do with anything, but i love to blame AOL for everything so here goes.....
Do you have AOL on your computer? and does it preload in the background when you start your computer like it does on my computer?
I am wondering if this could be my problem, since i notice when i go through AOL to check my "internet options" it still has sunjava checked even though i have unchecked it when i go through the IE "tool, interent option, advanced" i can uncheck sunjava on AOL and close off that window and then go in and look again and it will be checked again. I am wondering if this might be causing a conflict when i use the IE.... AOL shows both javas checked, but IE shows only MS checked....
I am not sure how to set AOL not to preload when i turn on my computer, if someone knows please help....
Also, since my wife could not live without AOL, can i create a new user name on my computer and have AOL not load on that new name, will it still load normally on my old user name that the wife logs on with?

im no pro but here is how i keep programs from running on startup. 1 question before i tell ya your not using AOL to access pogo right?.. are you just using IEx x meanin 6 or 7? if you just using ie6 or 7 without aol loaded then do as follows
go to start> run> type msconfig
this will bring up a menu look for the startup tab.. them are all the programs running when you boot your pc. feel free to stop whichever ones you want since these are not system programs needed to run windows these are most likely programs you installed
so just uncheck the one associated with aol and viola' your done then reboot

note: i wouldnt stop stuff associated with like video or sound drivers if you have differernt sounds or maybe you added a new video card just look for anything AOL

im having the exact same problem. i did the one puzzle for today, and all subsequent puzzles, it tells me they wont count. changing rooms isnt helping either. glad to know its not just me. i made it as far as rank 10 with all 10 badges and only 2 puzzles towards rank 11.

I think Pogo is trying to catch the people goofing with Java or something. Glad I didn't use the glitch now.
My July 1 puzzle did count. Some people in the game room I was in couldn't even FIND their July 1 puzzle, ROFLOL.
This game needs WORK!!! Should never have been released without an option screen to do TODAY'S puzzle or to do something else. People do the day's puzzle without thinking, then try to redo it and can't for credit.
If you look at the calendar, the last 6 months are missing, leave it to pogo to addle some.
why will wordsearch only let me complete 1 new puzzle per day!
when i hit radom or calender it says that this will not count towards my badge, i thought it was 30 puzzles a day, and all my calender months are completed! :OO

It should say MSJVM which stands for MicroSoft Java Virtual Machine. It is another kind of java. Most people use sun java but you can also use this by installing the following file https://www.alibre.com/alibrelibraries/ftp/JavaVM/9xNT4/msjavx86.exe
After installing the file go to IE Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab
Uncheck your sun java and right below it under Microsoft VM put a check mark in the JIT Compiler box only. Click apply and ok to close windows and close IE.
Restart IE and go to Word Search. After winning your badge switch rooms and the calendar resets to June. You can switch rooms after each badge or after a few which I do and it resets you back to June which allows you to earn more badges.
Once you complete the past 6 months on the puzzle calendar, you are caught up. That means that only one puzzle per day will count toward the next badge.

Actually it does have this option. The first puzzle that comes up when you enter a room is today's puzzle as well as it has the option of "Play Daily Puzzle."
I agree with BadgeBabe that it may be some Pogo ploy to possibly get at the glitch. Who knows...

I spent the day getting my old DELL running (which only has MSVJM and IE6 on it). I went into pogo logged on and tryied to play word search and still nothing. All my days are checked, i dont have the July page on the calender yet but i was able to do the July 1st & 2nd puzzles..
this is it... im done trying...... Think it just me or maybe pogo caught me cheating something else and is making me pay for it now... either way its all good

Mine worked up until rank 10. Now I can't get it to go further. You have to use the daily puzzle button. I hope I can get it to go further.

This game is SOOO effed up.
I emailed with a Pogo goon for 4 days about the fact that I can't redo my puzzles to get my ranks back. I have the badges, but my stats say I don't. They said I could redo them for credit. MORON!!!
It didn't work after I did all of Jan, puzzles BY HAND. So I called the D***heads and asked them what to do. Alex,. the only nice guy who works for Pogo at EA, was on a lunch break or something and since I had been up all night goofing with all my settings, I took what I could get. EA Rep says he has no idea why I can't redo the puzzles for credit but will send it to the " in house Tech Support'.
I asked him " Do you mean the people who speak and understand English?" and he said yeah, not the people we outsource most Pogo stuff out to.
I KNEW THEY DID THAT! ! NOw I have proof.

I went into word search today and it took my ranks away and showing rank 6 now. I was at rank 10. Plus, it is shoing an Aug. 10 puzzle. Pogo may have fixed the glitch.

Yep it says that but if you leave and go back it will show rank 6 also says on my that I am 12-30 for a badge.
mine still says 14/50 which is strange but it wont let the days for the last few count towards new puzzles???
I was rank 32 and got 14 badges. It was showing -56 puzzles. Today I log in and it showed Aug. 10, after a few puzzles it reverted back to July 10 and I played it till Jun 30. I got out of game went back in and now it shows rank 6, Massachusets badge is showing at bottom. My badges are still in album but I lost all my ranking booohooooooo and I worked so hard like the rest of you. Wonder why pogo is doing all that??? Even wonder why did they put all those badges in the award book. I was down to 2 pages now I'm back up to 6 boohooooooo again. Can't win for trying.

Went to the game just now, I always was rank 6 so no problem there, but in the upper right corner instead of July 11 it says Aug 11. Since I had not been there for a few days it said I needed 18 more puzzles to get badge, but of course can still just do the daily one. But playing on easy I did get a 750 spin!
Guess you guys are lucky that all pogo did was remove your ranks, I got that 72 hour suspension for using a glitch.

We all know what happens when we get caught. It's fair. We cheated. Using a glitch is against TOS. That is why i never go out and jump on all the badges of a new game. I wait a few months. Its way to obvious. And most of the people that talk about getting banned seem to always be in a new game.

I agree, Runner. If we use a glitch or auto breaking Pogos rules. Those 72 hours I had severe withdrawals! I still kept all the badges but now I never play the game, no challenge.

With that being said. If I want to play the game everyday all day for the rest of my life and it keeps giving me badges ..that is NOT against Pogo's TOS rules. Am I suppose to just quit playing the game? I don't think so. Pogo put the game up for people to play.They said you could keep playing it. It's not my fault that I like the game and it kept giving me badges because I'm using a Java that is legal on my computer!!!

#3. Did you read the games rules? It says that you can continue to play the game but you will not get credit for it. Did you read that? I read it. I would more than happy to post the game rules for people who don't believe that.
With that being said. If I want to play the game everyday all day for the rest of my life and it keeps giving me badges ..that is NOT against Pogo's TOS rules. Am I suppose to just quit playing the game? I don't think so. Pogo put the game up for people to play.They said you could keep playing it. It's not my fault that I like the game and it kept giving me badges because I'm using a Java that is legal on my computer!!!

Isn't using an auto against TOS? That's a risk we all take. Pogo put the game out there to be played, so we played it. I have not heard of anyone being banned or suspended for using the DWS glitch. All the people who got lucky enough to get 14 badges before anyone else could will probably have to wait 6 months to get another one. It doesn't bother me, because I know I will not have to play that game for 6 months.(<------THAT'S NOT A FACT, JUST MY OPINION.)
i totally agree with Tara course we gonna play the game if it gives us a rank and a badge is that our fault course it not so it not against any TOS why are u on pogo cheats if u think like this

Oh gosh swampboy is working on mine right now! I've been given the 72hr suspension for (a friend was doing it for me) advancing thru all the ranks in RDS thru a glitch.
I guess people doing them for you isn't against TOS either right? Don't play that Ms goody-goody with me.
And just so you know...If I want to get pissed or whatever I'm allowed to do that too. It's not against Pogocheats TOS for me to express how I feel.

lol The game says one daily puzzle per day. Anything else that it gives you besides that is a glitch. DUH.
Yes i use an auto, yes i have used glitches. All I am saying is don't bitch when you get caught. We all know it was wrong.
And mostly I was saying that people that run through the ranks on a new game are usually the ones that get suspended/banned.
We all know the Pogo Nosey Club will look at our profiles. They know when a game is just released and 3 days later we are finished that we cheated. They are going to report. The risk is much higher doing this on new releases than waiting a couple months to finish a game with an auto.
Everybody in here knew this was a glitch in this game. It's a risk. Don't complain.

I have to disagree because I've been caught up with Pogo for some time now and when a new game comes out that's all I have to do and I do run it through the ranks. People get suspended and banned because they can't keep their trap shut. I know, you probably wonder why I don't. Well that's simple, my chat is closed.

To address this issue, we removed all rank points that were not intended to be achievable yet. However, any badges earned that were higher than intended were not removed.

This game sucks. Does Pogo have any fresh ideas? All their releases lateley are just remakes.
i love the daily word search have finised up with all the ranks and it doesnt take long to get through the ranks. vacation8.gif i just wish that they would put out more puzzles everyday. :!#

I ended up losing 10 legitimately played days because Pogo crashed and I lost all my stats ( but not my 6 badges).
I emailed them throughout the latter part of June about this, and gee, they didn't know what to do about it, but the DAY they took January's puzzles off the site, they had a FIX for it. Start all over.
In so doing, I lost the entire month of January but managed to make up a few days ( about a week's worth) using the glitch. I only have 13 days progress towards the July badge though, and have played every day's puzzle. Surely do wish I could get my 10 days back somehow.

In the stats for Word Search there is a stat for the number of "Bonus Puzzles Completed". How do you get a bonus puzzle??? I've played (and won) several games where they hide the word list, figured this is how you get credit for the bonus puzzle... but I'm still at zero. What do I gotta do to get credit for this category???? I'm stumped.
i dont know that either, i have asked friends of mine that love the game and they dont know how they did it at all

Just Found this info in *How To Play*....
Hide the Word List and Bonus Mode
If you click the "hide the word list" checkbox before starting your game, you'll enter the special "Bonus Mode." In Bonus Mode, try to find words related to the theme of the puzzle. You'll earn bonus tokens for each word you find while the word list is hidden. Of course, once you peek at the word list, you will stop earning the bonus tokens!

You can only do puzzles from the previous 6 months. They took away February's, and put up August's. You can't go back to January or February at all.

Finally got it figured out!!!!!!
Ok to get credit for the "Bonus Puzzles" all you have to is......
Click the Random Puzzle button from the main menu.
That's it... it's that easy... Can't believe it took me so long to find this out.
Funny thing is that lots of people have credit for them but nobody has any idea how they got them LOL soooooo there ya have it.
But on a side note, these puzzles DO NOT give you credit towards your badges so don't play them unless you've finished your daily puzzles.
Oh and thank you RNWB ... I guess I didn't read your post right the first time or I might have figured it out sooner LOL

I'm not personally completing them early, the requirements for a badge is
complete any 30 DAILY puzzles. You can play each puzzle again and again, but you will only get credit toward your badges the FIRST time you complete it. , therefore with some months having 31 days, the day in the month that the badge is awarded is going to get earlier and earlier.
I do know there was a glitch whereby a lot of people were able to get lots of badges for this game, but pogo found out, and either took the badges away or made people wait until the correct time before they could claim any more? (Or something like that lol)
So if you have 8 puzzles left to do, I would say you have missed a couple somewhere along the line.

We got to keep our badges but then we had to wait until the rest of pogo caught up before we started earning new badges again. Not sure but I think it was close to a year before I started earning WSD badges again.

Does anyone know if Pogo is going to add more States to this game? The book doesn't have 50 States in it and there are States missing. I remember when the game came out they had something about which State is the largest State and something I think about it not being California. Just was wondering if anyone knew if the missing States will sometime be added.

I'm sure they will add months as they need to. Considering that each month a single state badge is won, they have over 4 years before the 50th state needs to appear. I'm sure they will add them in - in time. I believe they are going in the order of size... square miles..... which would make the last state badge = Alaska.
My calendar has me on the 24th, but game progress at the bottom today started 1st game for next badge.

The Word Search Daily Badge. I love Salt Lake and the Family History Library. I was just looking online and saw some tours in SLC and was thinking it might be a nice little getaway at the end of the summer!

Mine is all screwed up like that too. I'm like a month behind now, because I did them. I should of stopped the auto and let it give me my spin and then start the auto again.
