Title: New BadgeHelp Downloader
Post by: chummychum on June 05, 2011, 01:29:55 PM
All programs have been reconstructed. We ripped out anything that could be labeled as a possible virus/malware attack (like the toolbar).

So there are 2 options here:

Just download like you normally do, the file is now 20% lighter.

OR

Get the new BadgeHelp downloader, which you can find front and center at the top of the home page at BH

I installed the program and it has its own folder under c programs, it isn't in the BH folder with the autos. I also tried to download 2 autos thru it and it said they were downloaded so I went to look in the BH folder and the BH loader folder and they aren't there.

also, it would be nice and great if the downloads went to the desktop instead of a folder

I did find the download folder, I was looking in wrong place, lol

I will test it out this week on a couple of programs that were causing me specific download issues. I will start with World Class Solitaire.

works great, it gives you the version # when you click on an auto so you know if you need to update or not. it bypasses the A/V by going into a folder instead of the desktop.  I just put a shortcut on my desktop of the folder. now if BH will fix the 2 messed up autos I downloaded today, as all were updated for this release, but to give a popup error window as below:

The programs I updated that gave that popup were:

FiveOfAKind & SpiderFighter

I was able to successfully downloaded FlightAttendant for World Class Solitaire. This is the first time in months.

It is now working on one of my computers, playing towards re-ranking out the game on my second profile.

I tried the downloader and it is cool.  Warning nothing tells you the program is downloading or finished downloading.  Had no problem finding the file.  Now maybe SeaBall will play without stopping

Actually when you click the auto you want to download it tells you at the bottom what version it is, then if you click download a pop up tells you it is going to download and should take from 2 to 60 seconds, then you click OK and when it is downloaded another window pops up and says it was downloaded and where to find it. I put a shortcut to that folder on my desktop for easier use later. LOL.

Also, they updated those 2 autos that were giving me the problem with that pop up.

I do have another question tho. Why aren't the autos made by Joe in the downloader? The ones that are stand alone exe autos? I still have to go to the BH site to see if they need updating.

I'm just curious as to if I need the new downloader to update autos? I was looking at the bonuscheck thread and it appears that there is a 4.3 version out? Regardless if it's working or not, I deleted and updated it today the old school way and still was on 4.2?

Side note that makes me happy as a peach, Norton has accepted all 6 updated programs this past week.

How often is the BH Downloader updated???   There have been some autos recently updated and they are not updated in the downloader.   There are several programs for games that no longer exist on pogo either.   Would be nice if on the front page if the downloader has been updated and the last date updated.

Thanks

OK, I know it has been a long time since this topic was posted in, but after at least three(3) emails to Badgehelp over the past month with no response, I am posting here as it relates to the downloader.

When I try to install it, I get the following error(See Pic):

Also, when I go to the site to download the old way, I can only use the second link, which is for Jackpot.com and my Norton blocks it and says it is a malicious site.
The reason I can't use the first link is because it never loads. (See Pic)

Actually if you click yes, I think it gives you an option to download or just to run it. When I installed it the last time I saved to my desktop.

Some people have no issues with the autos, but never post about it as they probably aren't members here and may not even know about this forum.

I haven't tried them since I had the new hard drive and motherboard put in this new Dell. But, seeing that the downloader problem was finally addressed and that I did receive an email from them within a few days telling me they had reset my page, that maybe they are finally back to trying to do business. As for any of them that used to come here and post with the ChummyChum name, I guess they are afraid of getting told the frack off, lmao

All of our autos have been tested, there are a few right now that do not work, but a very few. We are going to be dedicating ourselves to get them ALL working over the next 30 days

Oscar, is this your first post in 8 years?

I have tried MANY of the autos I have with my 150 page and the autos are not working - it's not just a few autos.

I'm happy to read that you want to get it all working again.  Please follow through - there have been many empty promises.

Thanks.

Yes, it has been awhile. With the decline of PC use and Pogo use, I had to develop some other things. I just tested all of the autos last week and most are working. Which ones are not working for you and what browser do you use?

I could do a teamviewer with you to see the issue

Thanks, Oscar.  I bought two new puters and do not have any BH autos on them.  I have all the autos on my old laptop and I've just lent it temporarily to someone.  I don't want to start d/l'g autos on the new puters, especially if they're not going to work.  When I get the other laptop back, I'll contact you and let you know which ones are troublesome, ok?  Thanks much.

The BH Downloader (for their autos) is on their site. It is an Adobe Air program that you have to install from their site.

Don't use the BHDownloader, just run the programs directly off the program page

I just bought 2 laptops last week (15in. hp and a 17 in. toshiba) with win 8 installed. All autos worked perfectly with no tweaks to the desktop or any settings

Why not use the downloader? Does it not work anymore? If so, why do you still offer it on your site? I just had to get yet another hard drive put in and just installed it yesterday.

It does work, but it is not cleaned up yet, you may run into old versions on the downloader.

Best way to get the latest working version is to download it directly from the download page off the website

Also, the fact that I've run a successful business for over 20 years is not an indicator at all, right?  In fact, 25 years.  God, I'm getting old.

Good luck with that one. I have been tweeting (in other words ranting) about an auto for scrabble that does not work and Badgehelp has repeatedly answered me that "We are working on it".....on day 74 I wrote "Stick a fork in it - I am done" and they "favored" the tweet and said  "We've been in business for 13 years now, we never 'stick a fork in it' " But.... the auto still does not work over a month since that last tweet - can no longer stick a fork in it cuz it is petrified.
