ABC announced the lineup today for Dancing with the Stars: All Stars, which bows Sept. 24.
And they are:
Pamela Anderson (season 10, withdrew after fourth round)
Emmitt Smith (season 3, winner)
Kelly Monaco (season 1, winner)
Shawn Johnson (season 8, champion)
Melissa Rycroft (season 8, third place)
Joey Fatone (season 4, second place)
Drew Lachey (season 2, winner)
Bristol Palin (season 11, third place)
Kirstie Alley (season 12, second place)
Helio Castroneves (season 5, winner)
Gilles Marini (season 8, second place)
Apolo Ohno (season four, champion)
In addition, viewers will choose the 13th dancer out of a pool of three: Kyle Massey, Sabrina Bryan, and Carson Kressley. Fans have until Aug. 24 to make their selections on ABC.com.
"We got the best of the best," Executive Producer Conrad Green told reporters Friday in Beverly Hills. "We got the best personalities, the best dancers. We had a wish list and we pretty much got the wish list. All were willing to take part. It's a testament to how much they enjoyed doing it. This is our version of the Avengers. We tried to focus on the people who went further in the competition, who had the most ability. It will be an intensely competitive season."
even though i like some of the returning people,im starting to get tired of this show,the past season i hardly watched any of the shows..i think it is time to put it to bed..
At least the returning people are people with real dancing talent. It might be an upgrade.

lots of the time its just popularity i think as to who wins...if they get rid of bristol palin and pamela anderson,the rest of the group is okay...i just read online somewhere that derek hough is hanging up his dance shoes..show is going downhill for sure now..

That probably translates to Carson coming back. He had humorous moments but he can't dance and I grew tired of the dramatic flamboyance. I'd like to see this "reunion" show be made up of people with real dancing talent. They did ok with the line-up but Bristol and Pamela should go, too. I'd like to simply see a high level of competition.
I don't really care who gets the wild card spot. They're probably gonna put in there who they want anyway. giggle2.gif I don't think that Melissa Rycroft should be on there either cause she was from a reality show & I don't consider her a star although she was a good dancer so maybe Tony has a chance this time. dancing16.gif

I think that kind of dancing, for that many hours each week, wreaks havoc on your joints. I heard he was stopping, too. You're right, though, the cash probably drew him back. Heck! Give me a nice paycheck... I shake it for ya, too!

It cracks me up how a person goes on a reality show for several months (once a week) and then becomes a star. I think Melissa is a talented dancer but if they're going to accept people like her, they should rename the show "Dancing with Some Arguable Celebrities"

OMG, If Giles doesn't win this time, (first loss to the gymnastic) I will be totally upset. He is (to me) has the perfect body and moves that makes him a true dancer...Even tho it is DWS..how many stars are dancing? I only watch it cause he is back on and actually has a chance again. slap1.gif I had to reply to myself..anyway, Shawn Johnson has gymnastic and dancing ability, but to me it is NOT REAL DANCING.
I'm sorry to disagree but I think Shawn has real dancing talent. Yes, she's a gymnast and has an edge with the more acrobatic moves but she has a real sense of rhythm, she is synchronous with her partner, is using REAL dance moves (not just jumping around). I think Gilles is good, too, but that Baliwood (Bollywood?) routine was more of an aerobic class than a real dance, imo. I hope both make it to the end. Bristol and Kirstie must leave.... yesterday, if possible.
I watch for 3 reasons...Gilles-Shawn-Apollo.....The rest can go any time for me..Hopefully with Bristol first...The girl just has no talent for dancing...she seems stiff to me and I really think if not for her mama she'd be gone already..

While I don't think she's a "star" AT ALL, I think Melissa's dancing talent has earned her the right to be there. Everyone seems to be going nuts over the football player who I think is just alright.... nothing to write home about.

I really thought either Emmett or Apollo would go, definitely not Gilles! That surprised the heck out of me. I really figured he'd be 1 of the 2 finalist at the end cause he's been a great dancer all season. Guess maybe he just didn't get the fans votes.

i liked kelly when she used to be on Port charles,if you remember that soap,havent watched general hospital in a few years now..loved it when that whole luke and laura story was going on,and the cassadines...i would like to see either apollo or shawn win the trophy..
I watched PC but wasn't into it like I was the other ABC soaps..lol. I haven't watched GH in long time cause I got tired of it being the Sonny & his mob show but I started watching it lately & its getting good again! cindy,i loved watching the quartermain thanksgivings..i read where the guy who played edward had died,so i guess thats why they killed him off..they still wont have a storyline as good as the luke and laura saga,loved when they were running from frank smith and the mob,then all that stuff with the cassadines..i hate all that mob stuff with sonny,it was getting ridiculous with all he seems to get away with.i can still remember some of the older cast members like.steve,audrey,and jessie brewer..
Oh yes Missy, that ws the good days when some good stuff was going on! Luke & Laura are legends! And the Cassadines were great fun to watch! lol I loved all the stuff with Scorpio, Holly, Sean Donaly, Tiffany, Frisco etc etc too. I don't even want to start on Steve, Audrey, Jessie etc! I don't know... I don't think there's a wrong decision here. Yes, Shawn does rely on her strong gymnastic abilities but I think she really mixes it well with REAL dance... and Derek's choreography is always cutting edge. They are very good.
I want Val to keep his lips off Kelly. LOL. Could that guy BE more in love with her?? She danced beautifully.
Melissa has pure dancing talent. She's excellent.

I thought Shawn's last dance with Derek was superb. Really.
I bet Derek is unhappy with himself for breaking the rules with that one dance that resulted in lower scores for Shawn.
