As much as we were shocked by the things done by last years contestants - not one of them, even the winner, outlasted their 15 mins of fame. I only know that Amanda and McCrae are no longer together because I just googled him to see how to spell his name.  tumbsup.gif

Please, bring on some interesting people and drama. I will not buy the feeds but they are going to have BBAD on TVGN again this year which means lots of censorship gonna happen. And please NO BRENDON OR RACHEL OR COMBINATION IN ANY FORM.

I have heard that this season is Blood vs. Water like Survivor was, meaning both Rachel & Elissa will be on it.

'Big Brother 16' Rumor: Is a Relatives Season a Good or Bad Idea?

The premiere of Big Brother 16 is just three weeks away. The 24/7 live feeds, alliances and backdoors, Power of Veto and Head of Household, expecting the unexpected and Julie Chen's famous "But first" are all less than a  month away, and while there's no official word on what twists may be in store, one rumor seems to be dominating the Internet.

Keep in mind, this is only an unconfirmed rumor that could very easily be false, so everything from here on is pure speculation.

The popular rumor is that Big Brother 16 will be a "Relatives" season in which pairs of family members will compete alongside each other, similar to Survivor's popular Blood vs. Water twist. It may include veterans, newbies or a mixture of both. Some of the rumored potential houseguests include sisters (and former HGs) Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater, married couple Daniele Donato and Dominic Briones (who met and competed together in season 13) as well as season 14 standout Frank Eudy and his dad, professional wrestler Sycho Sid Vicious.

The idea of playing in pairs is nothing new, as Big Brother has done it several times. In season 6 houseguests entered as secret partners, though the secret was quickly figured out. Season 9 started with HGs competing together and getting evicted as pairs. Season 13 began with "Dynamic Duos" in which a single duo was nominated and only one was eliminated before it became an individual game.

If the rumor is true about a Relatives season, any of those could be potential twists, either playing individually, nominating two pairs or nominating a single pair. But is the rumor exciting or nauseating.

Why a Relatives Season Would Be Good

After the obnoxious controversy surrounding Big Brother 15, bringing back veterans would be a good idea. They understand how the show works and would be less likely to say those kinds of idiotic, ignorant, hateful remarks.

There are also plenty of past contestants I'd love to see again. Daniele Donato is my all-time favorite and Frank, while annoying, was a dominant physical player. Any season with a preexisting fan base is a good thing for CBS.

It also helps that the Survivor model was so well-received. People liked the Blood vs. Water format and that show is bringing it back this fall. Using it on Big Brother would be a great way to keep the popular trend going.

Why a Relatives Season Would Be Bad

I honestly love this idea and part of me hopes the rumor is true, but there's one major point that has me worried: Rachel. I've made no attempt to hide my disdain for Rachel Reilly and everything she brings to reality TV. Her voice is annoying, she cries way too much and she always tries to make everything about herself. I understand why the CBS reality casting department would keep bringing her back because she's a polarizing figure who loves creating drama out of nothing. But that's what I can't stand.

Even worse, CBS has overused her. She and her husband, Brendon, have already competed on two seasons of The Amazing Race and two seasons of Big Brother. And her sister, Elissa, was on Big Brother last season, where the MVP twist once again made it all about the Brenchel Army's fan base.

I'm not sure how much more of her I can take. She and her family have already taken up three of my last four summers on Big Brother and two of my last four springs on TAR. Giving Rachel a fifth shot at winning a TV show seems like overkill.

And the worst part is that I can't imagine Big Brother doing a Relatives season without her. The show loves making everything about Rachel, and bringing in her sister last season was like a test case for a Relatives season.

What do you think of the idea of a Relatives season on Big Brother? Big Brother 16 premieres Wednesday, June 25 at 8pm on CBS.

If they do this I sure do hope that we do not have Rachel. I actually watched her seasons (and Amazing Races) with my mute on and just using closed captions. And Rachel, Elissa and Brendon showed up on several CBS soaps a couple of times as well as Let's Make A Deal. NO MORE RACHEL.

But I have to admit I would love to see old Chicken George come back perhaps with one of his kids. And maybe Candice from last season but no Howie please.

First here is a link to the houseguests this season including what looks like a Duck Dynasty wannabe, a cop, a female minister and a youtube "sensation".

http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/photos/1001745/meet-the-houseguests/?ftag=MKTb70c745&ttag=mktg_news_BB_pic_0619 (http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/photos/1001745/meet-the-houseguests/?ftag=MKTb70c745&ttag=mktg_news_BB_pic_0619)

Yesterday on The Talk, Julie Chen gave away the following twists for the season and they look very interesting!

In the first twist, two Houseguests will win the coveted role of "Head of Household" (HOH) each week, which still comes with special privileges, including a separate suite inside the house. Each HOH will have the responsibility of nominating two fellow Houseguests for eviction every week. However, for the first time on the series, earning HOH will not guarantee one's safety in the game for the week.

With the second twist, fans will have a unique opportunity to significantly influence the game from home with a new interactive element called "Team America."

In addition, this season of BIG BROTHER will introduce an entirely new high-stakes competition, "Battle of the Block," which will dramatically shift the power in the house each week.

"When the Houseguests learn about the new twists, they will need to throw out any pre-existing strategy if they want to survive in the game," said Allison Grodner, Executive Producer of BIG BROTHER. "The new Battle of the Block competition will shake up the power in the house like never before. A Houseguest can go from zero to hero, or vice versa, every week!"

This season, the BIG BROTHER Houseguests will live in a whimsical urban tree house themed dwelling. The living room features a 20 foot tall wood tree sculpture, and wood panels that give the illusion of peering out into the world from inside the tree. The theme continues with the dining room's branch-bound chairs and the kitchen's butcher block island made of thick slabs of eucalyptus trees. Nestled above the living room is an actual tree house shack where the Houseguests can play chess. The Head of Household suite includes a giant bird's nest for the bed and a wall lined with nearly 1,000 bird houses. Also, the bedrooms are themed based on the classical elements earth, wind and fire, with the bathroom as water.

There was never any statement about NO BRENCHEL. After all, Julie keeps saying "expect the unexpected". So I am going to expect them and then by reverse they should not show. But I bet that they will use them as "guest hosts" like they did Ian or in some sort of Pandora thing. CBS seems to own them or visa versa so I will personally write Allison Grodner an apology if she does not include them.

Can you imagine what it would have been if that cute little female minister would have been in the same house with Amanda and McCrae? And this year they have a 2 night premiere and that is odd. Are they going to film it now and edit it into 2 nights? Or have them enter then the next night have the first competition for the double HOH? Confusion but summer is here and I am excited.

Edited to add that BBAD on TVGN does not start until the 2nd day so I think it will not be any live stuff the first night.

So did you watch the first night? No spoilers from me just in case and if you missed it and didn't DVR, you can go to
http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/ (http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/) and watch it. This year they are going to have Team America not just for voting on foods and our challenge (before it aired) was to choose someone to form an alliance and were told to do this wisely as it WILL have an affect on the game. This should be interesting because I did not do this before but the one I would have I chose seems to be dumb as dirt so glad I didn't!

http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/team-america-vote/ (http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/team-america-vote/)

And I was looking ahead at the sched for BBAD on TVGN and it seems they will only do 1 hour each night although they are saying that this will be "expanded" during the summer. They are touting the first night (tonight) as commercial free which means we will get those awful repetitive commercials making that 1 hour only about 40 mins after tonight. I think we should have a drinking game to the one that has Chenbot telling us to "expect the unexpected".

Jeff Schroeder (of Jeff and Jordan fame) will again host several online events.  This started last night with a "meet the new houseguest" and will have a weekly Live Chat with whoever gets voted out.

I couldn't agree more.  There's nothing more inane and unentertaining than to watch someone puff up his/her chest about how great they think they are.  I almost always completely disagree.  I, also, hate that the game has taken on SUPER superficiality.  EVERYTHING seems to rest on physical appearance, which gets really old with me quickly.  I much prefer the brainy part of the game.  Give me wits over boobs every time.

And how about thinking you are all that because you have what you think is a famous relative. Had to use my Bing Search to find out who that famous person is and am still trying to figure that one out. Oh wait, I have 32 yrs experience with Warner Music so I should know. What? She was the starting act for Justin Beiber last year! That explains why. Did he realize very few young watch Big Brother? I don't think you will have to watch Pow Pow very long either - she is that type that will have the other females feed on her. In spite of PooPoo showing up with names for a group of 4, I am pretty sure it will be soon be tres leches. She was the first one off the stump during the HOH Comp.

We now know someones type..... cute, blonde and dumb as dirt. Makes me think of the Booyah gal, Jessica. My new drinking game - any time Jocasta wears a new bow tie. (Oh, sorry, that got old real quick!)

Anyone watch BBAD that didn't fall asleep? It was funny to see the camera whores they are. Naked Hayden constantly asking if they were live yet. (Hey, Hayden, wait til you find out that you are removed from the camera almost every single time - so much for air time of your junk) Their clocks are obviously a few mins off cuz they sat there in silence with big smiles for 3 or 4 minutes waiting for the "live" time then they all ran around and jumped on the beds like kids on a sleepover. And it isn't just an hour - I think TVGN got things mixed up on their scheduling. And something happened to the mic's and we had "technical difficulties" on the screen for a while then even when it came back there was no sound. Hey - sorry, this is only the 16th season so expect the unexpected. Then when it came back on I fell asleep. Looking forward to lots of good sleep this summer.

Highlight of Big Brother was Donny's cricket sounds.

Ok... new rule must be added to all houseguest contracts:  NO BOW TIES - EVER.

Just thinking out loud...
Title: Re: BIG Brother - Season 16
Post by: disneyland lady on June 30, 2014, 04:52:48 AM
We had a local tv personality who used to do afternoon movies and had a trademark bow tie. He once had Vincent Price on the show and I was so excited because I loved Vincent. I wrote a thank you and suggested he get more guests of this caliber on the show. The guy  sent me a autographed pic of him leaning against the studio doorway with his bow tie loose. I now think of bow ties of something from a horror show! But I am getting over this fear this summer by making it a drinking game - each time Jocasta wears a different one. I am taking donations for rehab soon.  Jocasta's Bowtie has their own Twitter acct and I expect they will soon have a Facebook one.

I have added Devin to the dumb as rocks tally when I saw him last night on the taped show telling the 2 girls about the guy alliance and inviting them to join without saying jack to any of his alliance. He really needs to Google/Bing "alliance". Devin told some that he left "Professional Baseball" (aka minor league) to care for his child in 2010 but if his child just had her 3rd birthday shoutout the guy have had to leave because he was psychic and knew he would have a baby in a couple of years in his future. And he was on the "restricted" list the entire 2009 season. When he was let go it was for "suspicious circumstances".

And my feeling every single year just as it was for Helen Kim last year - any parent that leaves their kids for the summer with an "I love you and may or may not bring home some money - see you in Fall" speaks volumes about their commitment to important things in life vs being entertained.

A COMPLETE MORON!!  I couldn't believe him last night.  He's going to be one of those stupid houseguests who simply cannot keep his mouth shut.  He wants to appear to be the BIG MAN, with all the info, and the keys to the kingdom.  Also, he wants to appear to be that great dad who sacrifices ALL for his child.  Bringing home a paycheck should be one of those things.  He wasn't willing to give up time to earn a living by playing minor league baseball but he's willing to go over 3 months without seeing her for BB?  Really?  Nice logic.  I wonder about these peeps.

Devin will self destruct soon...His yapp is grand canyon size and it is always open and expanding. He was booted from baseball for questionable reasons??? wtf does that mean. Roid use possibly. His feeble attempts to sweet talk Joey and Amber to remove his huge target were hysterical to me...If he hits the block..e1 will vote him out except maybe caleb ..

Devin is a legend in his own mind and as such thinks nothing of his actions because he can explain them all ... for hours....even when alone! I swear I have never seen more man tears this season and this early. And the scary thing is that if this is not his idea of a ploy then those meds he gets are not working. I have a feeling that someone has to draw the short straw when having to be the staff member asking the questions in the Diary Room when Devin is called in. You can see when he is talking to anyone about anything that he is not listening to a thing they say but thinking on the next thing he will say. He keeps letting the rest of the cast know the error of their ways like what he did to Victoria about entitlement. Someone dug up his arrest record and that explains his leaving his semi-pro football career.

This season should be called PTSD and why would CBS put anyone that is diagnosed with PTSD in a locked house with others? If anyone in that house really has it then how did their doctors allow it? And one-track-mind Caleb walking around weeping into Amber's baby blanket! He is wearing glasses with no glass! I about wet my panties last night when they showed Caleb off in space. It only could have been made better with some of Donny's cricket sounds.

And anyone watching BBAD? I have now had to mute it because the sound of the ads for The Situations family "The Sorrentino's" is the most awful annoying screech.

Help me understand something...  when Joey tried to organize an all-girl alliance, she was lambasted and vilified for the attempt by the men.  Who the hell do they think they are?  They started TWO all-men alliance before she ever tried for the all-girl.  Yes, the bomb squad eventually brought in two females but only as a strategic move to insure their longevity.  Those women will be out faster than a blink when the time arrives.  What's worse is that when Joey was CRUELLY criticized for attempting the all-girl alliance, she agreed with them and apologized!  Whose game is she playing anyway?  I think it was shameful the way the other girls treated Joey when she made her attempt.  Women are frequently other women's worst enemy, I'm sorry to say.  No wonder men keep winning this competition.  Wake up, girls.

Caleb's behavior toward Amber is cracking me up.  He keeps watching her like a puppy dog.  In two days he decided she should be his wife.  So funny.

Listen to Devin's verbiage.  He acts as though he is the mayor of BB House.  "I'm keeping you in this game....", "I'll protect you from leaving....", "I'll make sure you're safe....", etc., etc....  He really irks me and should be sent packing with Zach... LOL.

I LOVE that straight Zach is cuddling with gay Frankie.  So nice to see a guy like Zach, the jerk, NOT being homophobic.  WTG Zach.

I'll have more later.... LOL, betcha can't wait.

I just do not get why BB would pick a guy like Devin...Busted for cocaine and has a DUI..Did 6 months lock in resid. rehab..fell off the wagon...His ex moves clear out of state to avoid his unstable azz..he is being treated for social anxiety disorder  but they lock him up with young people in a house and keep him medicated!!!!  WTH is wrong with BB casting???  The guy so clearly has major issues..He is gonna flip out when he has to leave HOH and can't have his quiet time to chill..He will explode and I hope when he does that  no one gets hurt. When his power is gone this week it will be ugly..especially if someone who hates him gets it like zach or cody or Britt.

I know I shouldn't believe everything I read but when I was reading online about Devin's legal woes, it said that his ex left the state to get away from his craziness.  I know... I know...

Didn't Devin say he is a single dad, taking care of his daughter in the beginning of the show - and that's why he left baseball?  I suppose I assumed that meant he's the custodial parent.

Let's face it... what the hell do I know?   hysterical.gif

Wow - this week has been milder than I thought it would with Devin being backdoored but still working the Houseguests saying he is "not campaigning but....."

I thought some of them would grow on me more but nope! They can blame Victoria's oddness on not being from this country but more than likely she is in her own little world no matter where she is. She actually thought that the show was supposed to be like The Bachelor. Christine was likable at first but CBS allowed her to be there when she has so many allergies and is vegan? Wonder if they used animal dye in all those tatts. I still think Donny comes up with some way too smart remarks even giving them a NASA answer when someone said that Lady Gaga was going to be going to the moon. He said "We quit going to the moon over 40 years ago". And without that backwoods beard he looks a lot different:

Here are the first 4 Wil Hauser great BB16 Saga episodes

I am wondering why he does not have any parody of Devin in any of the first 4 vids of this season. Wil is posting these on Youtube on Monday nights and with Devin more than likely gone tomorrow I am hoping he can come up with something.

I could not resist this humor I found online today. Devin has been campaigning using the line about how important his daughter is to him. He has had to cover many of his tatts using patches or makeup. I think one is about drugs and also he has the name of one of his high school coaches! But this one someone created made me crack up today:

I look forward to waving goodbye to the TV as Devin walks out the door.  I think the Julie Chen exit interview might be interesting.

I think Julie grew some cojones last year when Aaryn made that comment about Helen just "shut the f up and serve some rice". I wanted Julie to just hand her some rice upon exit. But Julie didn't let up and Aaryn hearing the BOOs was stunned that people didn't see her as the Texas sweetheart. I think Julie will have fun with Devin (IF it is Devin and not Caleb that walks out). I would love her to ask him if he would let his daughter watch his gameplay. Or say something about "I am sure your ex will be using your gameplay in your upcoming child custody case. I still think that Devin does not understand the word "alliance" and that waking people up in the middle of the night with 2 new members and how the game will now be played or putting up one of your alliance without talking to your alliance will not change the Webster definition of "a union or association formed for mutual benefit" to a union or association formed for the benefit of one person".

My dream wish for Caleb is that while walking down the stairs from HOH, he trips as he has several times and ends up mortally hanging by Amber's scarf in an Isadora Duncan kind of event.

Been a couple of weeks since we posted in here and last night and today were very interesting. Donny and Nichole as dual HOH with Nichole nominating Jacosta and Zach. Donny chose Caleb and Victoria. AND.... Donny was dethroned so now Nichole will have to decide depending on the POV if she wants to finally do what she wanted to and backdoor Frankie.

But the great thing is that Caleb and Victoria won what was a "how much do you want to win" contest putting the two of them in Adam and Eve gear attached to each other (for a week?), both are on slop and Caleb must shave his head and Victoria take a manure bath. I just hope that Victoria does not self evict rather than do it. Caleb has mentioned he has some very frank tatts on his head and he can't shave it. I have a feeling since he had racist remarks about Obama being muslim removed from Facebook by family just after they were exposed - these more than likely are of this kind. BUT... he had no problem wearing that scarf for weeks. Just know, Caleb that stolen bunny slippers are not considered fig leaf.

And after sealing Amber's fate:

If I have to look at Victoria admiring herself in a mirror one more time, I'll scream.  There's a mirror in the voting room and she is always looking at herself in it and ANY mirror around her.  It grosses me out.  No wonder she hasn't connected much with anyone in the house; she's busy playing the Narcissus game.

Caleb probably has a swastika on his scalp.

It is funny that Caleb and Victoria ended up attached by that fern cuz while she looks at every mirror (even the one when she leaves the voting booth) and he complained about just that - he does not just look - he poses at each mirror. They showed her shaving his head and he has no tatts - he was just not wanting to look like he did 7 yrs ago when he was in boot camp. And he has AMBER written on the lower part of his cammo cap - and it looks new.... he can look up and dream of his future.

I turn off my sound and use Closed Captioning because I hate Christine's laugh and the sound Victoria makes when she eats. I cannot wait for her to listen to herself. I did this during the 2 yrs of Rachel.

Unfortunately Nicole's HOH was ruined by Christine winning the VETO last night so no backdooring of Frankie and more than likely one more female, Jocasta, will be going home.

I still think that Victoria is just around waiting for the rose ceremony. And really Jocasta, you were allowed one small bag and you took 40 bowties and a purple pulpit robe and silver vestment stole?

I just wish that during any of the ceremonies someone would stand up and say "Raise your hand if you also have a Final 2 with Derrick".

Yes, Caleb is a mirror watcher, too.  I might as well not watch tonight.  You have described the next show completely... maybe the next two?  I'm still trying to get over Jocasta's hysteria when she was on the block, etc.  Her crying jags sounded like someone ripped her baby from her arms and threw the child under the wheels of a semi.  She is way over the top.  I don't remember Christine's laugh... maybe it doesn't bother me?  I hate eating noises... glad I am tuning Victoria out.  I can't remember who it was (Zach?) who chewed with his mouth completely open.  It was disgusting.

Victoria is very vocal with eating and she digs into a mixed nuts can - finds the one she wants - eats it loudly - licks her fingers and digs back in the can that is being shared among all. Worse than double dipping to me. Frankie did something worse that I can't even type!

I liked Derrick at the beginning but he admits to having read Dan's book and uses many of Dan's "misting" traits and I sooooo want him to get the shaft instead of the diamond mine. And he knows that the important thing is how he is seen to those who are going to be voting so he reminds me of a politician at a meet and greet rally. I know he will be final 2 - I just hope whoever that other person is will win. Watching Nicole has made me see that Hayden is much more aware of what is going on than I thought - he looks like a typical pedicab/surfer dude from my beach but he gave some good advice to Nicole to let her see that Christine was completely playing her and that things she tells Christine in private are being told to him by others.

I also have issues with people portraying themselves as pastors/ministers yet putting others down almost every chance like Jocasta has. She is too amused by others misery. And her bragging about how she won in that chess game where Amber was paired up with her. Jocasta was first out and Amber was giving everyone the best move for everyone but managed to finally win taking both her and Jocasta off the block. Jocasta then did her divinity dance and praised God for helping her. She didn't once thank Amber who actually was the reason Jocasta was saved. Maybe she could have just praised God for having been paired with Amber - but she didn't - she made it look like God had taken time out of dealing with downed planes, war and death to make sure Jocasta came off the block.

** A childhood friend of mine is a Priest and ministers to the SD Chargers. He always has this prayer to God to be gentle and comforting to the other team when they lose. I have told him many times that MY God does not have a "team" he cheers on and if he did it would be the Oakland Raiders not the Chargers... heh heh!

AND....OMG - Christine has a snort - a constant irritating snort - I wondered how her husband feels about her petting Cody all day long but got an answer on that one. Last night the camera guy kept going over to her stroking Cody's hair, his arm, his back....then the camera went real close on her wedding ring and a tatt of her hubby's name! He just recently tweeted:
@timstinks I just blocked about 30 people. no, I'm not stoked about Christine cuddling with Cody. no, its not your issue so chill.

She licks her fingers and goes back into the can hunting for her favorites?  GROSS!!!!!!!  Now, you have to tell me what Frankie did.  If you can't post it here, PM me.  LOL

Christine is so stupid.  She thinks that once the detonators or Bros get rid of everyone else, she's isn't first on their list?  The girls have played so stupidly so far in this season IMO.  They are so eager to give away their power and it's always their demise.  Has a female ever won BB?

Yes, Jocasta took total credit for that chess win.  My reaction was the same as yours.

Big Brother 3 Unforgetable Lisa Donahue but only because Danielle Reyes had ticked off so many of the jury.

Big Brother 4 Jun Song (I still remember her wearing a cabbage bathing suit!)

Big Brother 6 Maggie Ausburn (the most hated winner) lost her job at an ER in Vegas after being seen on the show. (My grandson is now working in that same ER!)

Big Brother 13 Rachel Reilly

I'm a relatively new viewer.  I think this is my 3rd summer watching.  I completely blocked out the whole Rachel fiasco.  I don't know a single one of the other names.

Jun used to write a blog about each episode and was witty, clever and right on spot with most of the people she wrote about but I think now that she has kids she has other interests.

CBS hired 4 comic book illustrators to do the comic book covers used in the POV that they will show tonight. Here is a review of them. I wonder how Victoria feels about the way they portrayed her body. And I remember after the POV, on BBAD they were discussing and most loved theirs. But I remember several of them wondering why they had a kangaroo in Joey's. Not the brightest houseguests we have ever had.

I love that!  Thanks for sharing, Dis.  Victoria has been made to look matronly, which pleases me in a petty sort of way.  Sorry, with the way she can't stop looking at herself, she needs to be taken down a peg or two.

I love the Joey reference.  I'm amazed at how little people know simple things.  Doesn't anyone want to learn anymore??

Pow-pow (pao-pao) doesn't even look like her.  They did a terrible job capturing her likeness.

Jocasta looks like she has rickets.  LOL

I DVR'd the show.  Going to go watch now!

Hayden lives in a part of So Cal that has lots of bikers and keeping in mind his job and I think he is talking about a biker term - found this in the Urban Dictionary: A young motorcyclist who overestimates his abilities, boasts of his riding skills when in reality he has none. Squid bikes are usually decorated with chrome and various anodized bits. Rear tyres are too wide for their own good, swingarm extended. Really slow in the corners, and sudden bursts of acceleration when a straight appears. Squids wear no protection, deeming themselves invincible. This fact compounds intself with the fact that they engage in 'extreem riding'--performing wheelies and stoppies in public areas. Squids wreck alot. Derived from 'squirly kid'

Him being a pedi-cab guy, I bet he had been called a Squid plenty of times and him calling Christine a "squirly kid" sort of fits his personality.
