Title: Forum problem
Post by: gran2x2 on March 01, 2018, 06:29:51 PM
Is anyone else having a problem with your text posts freezing when you type a reply?

I'm not seeing that issue here.

What web browser are you using? Have you tried rebooting?

Yes, I was having problems with that and also on the pogo site.  I was suddenly freezing and then would move forward.  I think the cosmic internet was experiencing a little gas... I don't think it was any particular site.

YES.  earlier today I would type and nothing showed up ...... closed out thinking I hit a wrong key and froze.  came back and the same thing, so I stared it down and finally the typing appeared................. it took about 15 seconds or so.  Seems to be working fine now and I didn't change anything, using Chrome
The only place I noticed it was on this site

I can't say I've seen that issue before. When you're typing in the box, it doesn't use any internet (until you click on the "Post" button) so it had to be something running on your machine eating up enough CPU resources to create lag issues.

It's interesting that you & Squid both had that issue though. Please let me know if it happens again.

I also had some minor problems while trying to post today and also a few minutes ago.  It's most annoying.   I was using the Chrome browser.  Hoping it works itself out soon.  Didn't have a problem on another web site.

I don't think it's my computer, it's happening right now.   15 seconds for typing to appear in this box.  I run IObit advanced system care every night

I'm testing this on my iPad and everything types just fine, so I have no idea why this is happening on my computer

I'm trying to figure out what's going on.

I haven't updated anything on the forum recently, so it's weird that some of you are having this issue.

I don't have a problem posting on any other site.  BUT................. no haters please.............. my AOL is also down and there is a map showing all the areas that are being affected.  So I'm guessing I should put on my army helmet and head for my shelter.

and I'm not having this issue right now, it seems to be working fine.  But I'll let you know if it happens again....... hard to fix something if it's working, right?

Thanks for letting me know!

I was able to see an issue in Internet Explorer 11 - for every letter typed, it was throwing a error. I managed to fix this myself, so hopefully this fixes your issue as well. Please let me know if anything changes.

The next time your waiting for the lag, press [CTRL] + [ALT] + [DEL] and click on the "performance" tab and let me know what your CPU and Memory % is at.

ok, but right now it's fine "again" and I haven't done anything except post here.................. and wash my hair hahahaha
this is what it says now 3.0/7.9 GB (38%).  So at least we will have something to compare it to if it happens again.

Ok I had a lag typing this, so I closed out the site and came back in and it's typing without any lag......... seems to be fine during the day, it's my first posting in the morning that I notice it the most.  And I forgot to check task manager,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, grrrrr

Post by: gigi on March 04, 2018, 10:38:19 AM
Lag again here's my info from task manager

2.9/7.9 GB (37%)

took me 2 minutes to get this typing to post

Could you post your CPU % next time it happens?

Also, check your "startup" tab and see if anything doesn't right or shouldn't be loading at boot time.

Post by: gigi on March 04, 2018, 08:29:18 PM
2.9/7.9 GB (37%) not responding to typing was my CPU this time compared to when it was working
working CPU 3.0/7.9 GB (38%)

not much of a difference

I don't know what the "startup" list means.  they are audio(4) and one windows defender.

I'm using Torch browser right now and it's ok tonight.  I'll check CPU and "startup" tomorrow morning on Chrome and Torch.

Now I'll go check it on Torch

Performance

I have no idea, but it might me me after all.  Don't know.  Also, I may have mentioned that I don't have this issue when using my IPad to post

So as far as you're aware, this issue is only happening in Google Chrome?

Could you check to make sure you have the latest version installed? Just copy/paste the url below in your address bar.

Actually, I'm not, ever since my last post to just give up, I've been fine.  Thanks, did you do something on your end or was it just a freak of nature?

...... and I should apologize to you for not saying anything.  I just kinda closed the door on it................ the "beating a dead horse" thing and figured we were through.  But took me a while to notice I wasn't having any more issues anyway.  Thanks for all your help and all you do.

No, I never did anything on this end. I was going to have another look this weekend if you were still having issues though.
