That must of surprised the workers when the kid rolled in. Also, I'm sure that x-ray scanner wasn't good for him either.
He's lucky he wasn't hurt on edges and joints. My foot got caught in an escalator when I was a kid.
I also got my foot stuck in an escalator when I was a kid. I was wearing rubber boots (for some reason) and the top part by the toes got gammed in to the side. The escalator came to a sudden stop and a few people behind me stumbled forward.
My right foot caught caught at the very top, where the step disappears under the plate. I scrunched up my toes super hard because the shoe kept being drawn toward the tines that went into the grooves of the step. Finally, the escalator just ripped the front half of the cheap sneaker I was wearing right off. I was so embarassed, I didn't tell anyone. Walked home with my foot sticking out of half a shoe. Didn't get a scratch.
Oh wow, you were lucky! I never received any injuries either. I was able to pull my boot out and it was still in fair condition and wearable.
I saw that on the news a few times & was glad that kid didn't get really hurt. But I must say , where was the Mother. You don't leave a 2 yr old alone?

Yeah, especially in a busy airport. This could have been much worse.
