The Mer-Bear Constellation has started!
This constellation is packed with more reward tiers to climb! Instead of extended Pogo milestone goals, you will now find three extra reward tiers each in the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. That's nine extra rewards to unlock! Climbing the tiers is as simple as completing new Daily, Weekly and Premium Challenge to earn Pogis.
The Mer-Bear Constellation celebrates a distant forebear of Snowbird Solitaire's very own Bearnard. Long ago, the Mer-Bear led the polar bears to a string of tropical islands in the Bear-muda Triangle. There they became caretakers for the migrating snowbirds, creating a comfortable and luxurious habitat. While the Mer-Bear has since taken up residence in the seas above, his descendants continue his noble tradition of hospitality management.
The Mer-Bear Constellation will reign over Pogo skies until 11:59pm on January 5th.

Looks like we need to get to 12,600 Pogis to get our 50 Gems. Glad I saved Badges...already got to 11,200...and didn't have to purchase any.

I'll be nice/easier for us if Pogo says with 200 Pogis per daily. At that rate we can get 24,000 Pogis per constellation. Just a little intel...we get 50 gems at 12,600 and another at 43,400...can't tell yet if and when we get the "final" 50 Gems.
BTW...the new Pogo is better than the old classic POGO...didn't think I would be saying that.

Went back to 100 Pogis per challenge. It will be nearly impossible to get the second gift of 50 Gems.

Well that's not good!
I think they added to many tiers to each of the bronze silver and gold. I think they noticed that a lot of people were finishing and getting way over the amount and now have fixed it to where you can barely finish the bronze level. It is a tall order to finish all 18 tiers.
They did add tiers but did you notice that the requirements for the tiers have been greatly decreased for most of the tiers? 17 and 18 require the usual high amount.

They're not doing that for this constellation. All they said was :

I want them to go back to the old format (extended Pogo milestone goals).
It will be a challenge for me at least to make it to the end of bronze level. Cannot buy gems this month so we shall see how far I can get.
I'm almost done with bronze. I haven't bought anything. I finished the Wednesdays challenges, the dailies, the badge marathon and the GOTM badges (4), plus leftovers from the previous constellation. This got me to the middle of tier 18.

I'm fairly pleased with the progress. I am at tier 10 in silver. If Pogo keeps up with the freebies, gold gems are possible. I also bought some challenges yesterday with the sale so I can do those if I need extra pogis. We have about 40 days left with this constellation so more is definitely coming... especially with Christmas on the way. I am an auto gal, which makes all this possible. If I weren't a person who uses autos, I'd have given up long ago.

Yeah, it's be pretty tough to get any real progress without autos.

Finished the Mer-Bear Constellation. Started Banking Badges for the next Constellation scheduled to start in just 23 days. So my nickels worth of free advice...if you can't get to the level you are aiming for...and don't want to spend Gems...you might want to start saving. However, come 1 Jan 21 (Military date format) there should be a new game of the month...plus there might be some more freebies. Still I would save the Badges till late in the Constellation...but you already knew that.

Yes, I tried that before. But, since I purchase all the Badges offered...it puts me way over the final Pogis tier. Come tomorrow Pogo should be offering their Platinum Badges for 20 Gems...but they yield 600 Pogis...9000 total Pogis.

Those platinum badges are only available until December 30th, so if you want to use them for the next constellation I would buy them soon.

Hope everyone is good. What a year!!! Got all the platinum badges for both accounts. Was able to "gift" them to myself. Waiting for the next Constellation...have lots of Badges in my Christmas stocking ready to open and complete on 6 Jan 21 (military date).

Thanks for all the tips playing these constellations. Looks like the next one starts on Wednesday...so need to hold those weekly challenges. BTW...have 50 yes 50 MnM badges...ready to go. One tip...if we get some new monthly GOM badges...I'll save mine till the 6th.
Next year has to be better...however...still alive...and somewhat healthy for being only 74...ouch.

I have a question... but let me set it up first.
I have reached silver gems and have no real hope of getting to gold gems. I am holding all recent badge acquisitions for the time when they will pay off. None of the power-up rewards in the gold tier interest me except QA and they are too deep in the tier for me to have hope there, too. As a result of all this, I don't feel like getting more pogis during this constellation are is of any use to me. I would, also, like to stockpile this coming Wednesday's weekly challenges, meaning I would not do them at all next week. If the constellations run for approximately 8 weeks, I was thinking I would do next week's weekly challenges as personal challenges, thus getting the pogis for the next constellation. Here comes the question...
How long does it take for weekly challenges to become eligible as personal challenges? I seem to remember 6 weeks but I'm not very sure. I tried to find info and failed.

There is a 35 day hold on activating a personnel challenge. That is an excellent plan...You are so smart. So next week you will be able to hold the Wednesday's Challenges from 30 Dec 20 until about 3 Feb 21 or 10 Feb 21.
Wow, you would have gotten an "A-Plus" in my math class. Most of the students in my 9th grade classes were not interested in Algebra...go figure.

What are your goals when playing the Constellations? Mine is easy get the Gold...then. Once achieved I'll start banking Badges...and Wednesday's Challenges. This is not the most efficient way to play.
A "better" goal might be to get the Gold or Silver at the end of the Constellations...lots of math may be involve. The Gold might not be achievable without spending Gems. I believe the Silver is very attainable.
To attain our goals/objectives is easy...manage back from the future. However, it is hard to say what Pogo will give us.
Thoughts?

So let me revisit holding Wednesday's Challenges and then complete those Badges as Personal Challenges 35 days later. Remember that the 35 day countdown doesn't began until the end of this week's Wednesday Challenges...so that would put us 6 weeks behind. More importantly...do I need to wait five or six weeks and only do Personal Challenges and never do the Wednesday's on time? That doesn't seem right. WOW...after reading what I wrote...I am more confused. Let me try to state it differently.
When can I do Wednesday's Challenges and Personal Challenges on Wednesday? Or, do I just save this week's Challenges?
Remember, I started drinking my boxed wine at 5 PM. Doctor said I needed to drink 4 Pints a night...or was it 4 Litres...or was it 4 quarts? Additionally, he said I was FAT...I said could I get a different opinion...He said I was UGLY too...and that will be $100.
