Nothing spoils a good story like the arrival of an eyewitness.

My niece came to our corned beef dinner with so much distressing on her jeans, I asked her why she bothered to put on pants.  I'm her fun aunt.

Jeans with built in air conditioning!

With that said, even this little bit of distressing looks like a lot of work.

They charge soooo much extra for distressed jeans. It's possible they even use damaged fabric that would normally have to be discarded anyway, to make these jeans. I can imagine someone in a board meeting discussing a shipment of denim that came in, damaged, and deciding to use the fabric anyway. But rather than discounting the price due to damage, they decided to mark them up ridiculously high to make people think they're special, because if they discounted the price for damage, no one would give them a second glance.

So true Stinky and these new styles!  If I'd have had to wear a pair as a youngster, Id have been laughed at and considered dirt poor.
