just got word that the solving engine is complete!

he is going to incorperate the reader / solver together tonight.

tommorow ill be able to let you know how well it solves the games.

I have a quick question

Would it be possible to incorporate an option to finish the game in 151 moves?
Because if your name keeps poping up at the bottom round after round it's going to look mighty suspicious.

i dont think that its going to look all that suspicious, cause me and many others have played plenty of games consatantly and some of us can win as fast as this auto probably will  :P so i think its gonna be great  8) i suggested in the pogopal forum that the programmer, if anything should make the program have an option that would beat the game in 100 or 110 less moves  ;) (i dont know if its just me, but it seems that you get more bonus tokens when you beat the game in less moves)

i dont think it'll be possible for us to "program" the engine to beat the game in X amount of moves.

the engine will tho beat the game in as few moves as possible.

cant you program it to look over the puzzel and not begin to start until it finds that it can beat the game in x amount of moves or less  :-[ (like poppit)

but see the whole point of even doing that still depends on if completing the puzzel in less moves really does have any kind of affect on the bonus spin... because if it doesnt then whats the point of putting it in there anyway..

i guess that's possible .. but you have to understand this aswell.

the freecell solving engine was originally in visual c++ .. we had to convert it to vb6 then to a .dll file in order for it to work properly.

the c++ code was more than 40 header files, and over 1200 lines of code .... 12 days later we finally have something working.

we programmed it so it will win as many games as possible (which wasn't easy considering that this freecell game had scratch cards).

if thats an update that pogopal wants as a future update, we'd be more than happy to try for him.

many people have tried making this auto .. all have failed thus far.

lets just get this auto out first, then see where we go from there.

*sigh*  -- Where did all the screen shots go?  I've been dying to see this thing in action.  The logistics of Freecell just keep eating away at my brain...  ;D  We had the discussion on the board a few months ago about how hard it would be to create a FC program... I'm just so excited to see what kind of algorythm was worked out for this program...  :)
