1) my list is missing a few smiles, such as the baseball ones in Homer's sig. why is this?
2) when i change and put the smiley list in my profile on "More Smileys", i dont see the smileys....just a white box with a red X inside. again, why is this?

i did what you said homer but i am not getting any new smileys...i went to profile/layout/put smiley on that sof one and hit change on bottom....am i missing something?

The baseball ones are not part of the forum smiley collection. To see the good smiley collection you should use the one named Sofrayt
