I don't have the link handy, but I saw on another Pogo info site some information about the Gems and Mix-n-Match albums...

The badges for these albums will be between 12 and 18 gems EACH. The current 10 badge premium albums are $5.99 (that's about 60 cents a badge - Gem badge prices are about 6.23 cents per gem [80 for $4.99] so that's 75 cents a badge [12x6.23] or 7.50 for a 10 badge album of the cheaper badges). This is for the lowest gem group price. I think you save a small amount if you buy in larger quantities. So, badges will cost more this way. :(

They have about 35 mix-n-match badges already planned - some of the challenges look rough for something you have to pay extra for and might not get the first time. Challenges are not a flat two weeks for every badge...some of them are less time like "win 5 Aces Up hands in 30 minutes." There is also the 2 week length like "be the only bingo in the room 10 times in 2 weeks" [I love this one - NOT]. What I want to know is what happens if Pogo goes down or you have some other technical issue? Do you have to pay the gems again to try for the badge? Or can you just reactivate it like the other premiums - gosh I hope so!

I am addicted to badges, but why can't they just keep stuff the way it is...This is just a way to charge more for the badges by adding a "new" way to charge us. I guess they think the pretty packaging will keep us from doing the math. I hope mine is correct...well, maybe I don't, since it doesn't look good! LOL

Quoteyes, of course it's optional. But if Pogo starts charging extra money every time they "break new ground and invent new things", how is that fair to the regular members? We signed up and paid our $35, yet we're not entitled to free upgrades on the site we're paying to use? By hiding behind the "it's optional" cloak, they're forcing us to stick with the original version of Pogo we joined with, sans upgrades, new games, mini items, badges....

I totally agree.

i also agree

So what is my $35 paying for? They certainly can't claim its for game development or upgrades to the site, if I then have to go and pay extra for them.

Wow alot of complaints about this (here as well as elsewhere). Remember this is OPTIONAL. Nobody has taken your hand and led you to the ATM to withdraw money for this. A company HAS to continue to break new ground and reinvent things otherwise they'll go stale. For example check out the candy isle and you'll see a bunch of varieties of the original Hershey's bars, some that cost ALOT more. As well as many other examples.

You still get to play all the games and the weeklies are still there. I don't think I've ever seen a chatroom where people are saying I have more badges then you nya nya. Besides we all now tokens are useless anyway. Otherwise I would have stockpiled enough up to pay my daughters college tuition years from now.

I will be getting this because I enjoy the badges but not for my mini.

I know the stuff is optional-but I think what is pissing people off the most is pogo charging us to get stuff for our mini's

I can see using them to buy premium books but forget minis.  Right now things for minis is all we can do, as far as I know.

I will buy the gems to pay for my badge albums most likely instead of doing transactions all the time it sounds a little easier... but i will not buy mini stuff with my money that i know

i'm with you on this one.

And I'm with both of you guys on this one.
