Was just reading about this on TMZ .. and I didn't know he wrote theme songs for TV shows.

--------

Alan also hosted game shows, talk shows, and wrote several famous TV show theme songs for "Different Strokes," "Wheel of Fortune" as well as "Growing Pains".

When they went down the list of things he had done, I was surprised!

Alan Thicke passed away unexpectedly today at 69 years old.

The actor, best known for playing the father, Jason Sever, on "Growing Pains," is survived by his three sons – Robin, Brennan, and Carter – and his wife Tanya.

TMZ is reporting that when the beloved TV actor was playing hockey with his son, he suffered a massive heart attack and passed away unexpectedly.
