What programming language do you guys use?

I'm just boggled by how you guys did this, how do you recognize what's on screen etc?

I believe the programs are made in Visual Basic. I'm not sure about the specifics because I don't make the programs, (WordzW and A Bored Programmer do,) and I have little knowledge in that area. It is pretty amazing how much they can fit into a tiny file.
