This is what was purchased for my home one year ago.
Now my other computer is trying to die and I might just let it.
It is impossible to view facebook with the computer that wants to die.

Here is my question... The first two computers I listed are the same model number but different prices.
Both are being offered by Staples and I have an additional $15.00 off of either.
What is the difference between the first two and are they better computers than what I bought a year ago?

This is offered in Staples AD this week for $379.99 Save $100 Reg. Price $479.99
But I have a coupon for an additional $75.00 off to bring it down to $304.99

"better" is subjective and based on your needs. If it's for basic internet usage what you have is sufficient enough. Are the two new systems "better", well they have faster CPU's and better graphics cards. So if that means better to you, then they are.

The difference between the first two is processor and graphics card. If you don't play graphics intensive games (Warcraft, Diablo, FPS games, etc type stuff), or watch TV through your computer (or movies), then the graphics card probably wouldn't matter. The processor is about the same thing...if you don't use the computer intensively, then you wouldn't notice the difference between the two. The first one listed also lists a card for WiFi, the 2nd doesn't. So the 2nd one listed might not have a wireless network card based on the data you've pasted. If you want to have wireless capability, then you might want to double check the 2nd one for it.

Outside of that, those are the only differences I noticed.

TY Snap.

The one I have now seems to work well for me but I need a new second computer for the kids.

I have 12 yr old twin boys that play the facebook games.

Sounds like the 299.99 computer is better than I have but enough for the kids to play on.

I agree with that. They won't have any problems playing online games with that computer, it's more than sufficient.

New Question for you.

I will need a monitor for this new computer.

I had thought they were all the same just a different size.

What is the best one to buy?

There are backlit ones and others from Staples.

They have a HP one for 90 - 25 = $65.00

Can't say I have any specific knowledge about monitors (especially the newer ones). Can't really help with that one. I have a Samsung and that's one of the few companies I trust, so would probably stick with it. I refuse to buy anything HP based on past experiences (long ago) so can't give an impartial opinion on that monitor.

MsMissy

snap , I also just bought a Samsung 24inch Monitor on sale. I find any brand I have used worked just fine. My 1st was  a HP, 2nd, Dell, 3rd Acer &now this 1 Samsung. I think they all are good , but you can get some which we call a lemon, but can be returned. Its just what appeals to you. anyway I have had no bad luck with any . I just kept going up in size  LOL

The last 2 digital items I have gotten were from what was formerly Circuit City but is now TigerDirect.com. I got on their email list and they send out the most incredible deals on tvs, computers, monitors and the last item I got was 70% off normal price. I even bought a monitor earlier this year for my grandson who is now going to college out of state and they shipped it there for me.

I did, I did! I am just trying it out for a little while because I would never want to give you something below par or defective. Hmmmm....I think it needs a bit more time.....or some of your eyecandy to distract me.

Looks good Sue. It has a smaller hard drive than the others (500GB compared to 1TB, so half the size). If you don't plan on storing a ton of data on it (pictures/videos mainly) then it shouldn't be an issue. Everything else is pretty comparable to the two you listed already. Bit slower of a processor, but that really isn't something you'd notice for what it's intended to be used for.

Sue
