spademaid plays the game the other counts the cards

The old PlayedSpade just sat there and counted the cards, but the new version of SpadeMaid says this:

PlayedSpade has been discontinued. SpadeMaid now has a counter inside of it. Just click the SETTINGS tab on your Maid and there is the counter...

My question is this...PlayedSpade DIDN'T play the game, it only counted them.  If I use SpadeMaid as PlayedSpade will it only count the cards, or count them & play the game?
