- September 11, 2009, 08:31:08 PMThank you for all of your concerns! My hubby is pretty shook up though. He had an impeccable driving record for the last 15 years up until today. While he suffered no bodily harm, his mind is definitely not in the right place right now. I hated having to leave him home alone today because I had to work. He broke down and cried (I have only witnessed this 3 times in 10 years) and that got me all upset too.
Now the new worry for the day is whether or not they will fire him for the accident. The company just fired 2 people in the last 3 weeks because they had "rear-ended" another person. My hubby did not rear end the other person, but he was making a left hand turn from a right hand lane (which is a no no)....someone flew up on him in the left lane as his cab was crossing over and whamo! It was in the middle of the night, no street lights, no traffic. The damn cops didnt even show up even after they reported it 3 times to 911 and waited over an hour. The dispatcher told him to exchange insurance information and go on their merry way. The dispatcher told him that the only 3 cops they had were too busy responding to a man who was threatening to jump off of a bridge and couldn't come. WTF is that all about?

My husband is an OTR driver only comes home every 2 weeks for the weekend. And one night his trailer caught on fire.. thank goodness he was pulling into a truck stop and other men helped him put it out.

- September 11, 2009, 05:36:24 PM Hocky im sure glad too hear that your hubby wasnt hurt. God must have been watching over him, especially when it is 9-11. everytime i see older movies on Tv & they show those Twin Towers i think of all the ppl. who died & how every 1 came toghter.

I seldom look at my badge count, but the way it popped up after I completed the challenge.... and the count was there, it just gave me the feeling of "never forget". Of course no one will - everyone knows where they were and what they were doing.... and mostly, we shouldn't ever forget.
Another thing....... I was recently enlightened on a news quip about Charlie Sheene..... guess I won't be watching 2 1/2 Men any more. What a jerk he is.... well more of a jerk now, he has always been a jerk of sorts.

- September 11, 2009, 01:59:13 PMWell maybe this will change it up for you in the metaphysical world there are those that believe you receive signs that your life is on track signs can be what you describe badge count matching the date. Just a little something that gets your attention. I had it once when I was watching a movie and the clock in the movie matched the time I was watching. So maybe this will lighten it up a little for you.

Hocky, your hubby has a hard job that deals with every personality on the road and I don't envy him at all. When I drove a cable repair truck I spent every minute on the road in extra anxiety because it had the name of the company on the side of the truck and I felt I needed to "represent". Almost every morning since 911 when I turn on the tv I head for the news to see if I should still get up cuz that was what I had done that morning. Glenn Beck 
has been trying to make 9/12 become something extra special to "take back" america and keeps putting down our President. But the one thing I remember most vividly was that 9/11 brought out the best of America and we all were together behind our President on that one day.

The company decided to send him to a new place (he has never been there before), and of course it was during the night last night. He called me at 6 am to tell me that he was in an accident (thank God he wasn't hurt), but he made reference to the fact that it was on 9/11.
As I was scrolling through the TV guide on my satellite...I noticed there are only 2 channels that are playing any type of show regarding that fateful day 8 years ago. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing that morning when it all happened. I can't help but feel such a sad emptiness every year when this day rolls around.
To all of the lives lost, the families who have suffered, and to each and every person that this tragedy has touched, I pray with you.

I think all of us, when we see anything referencing 9/11, can't help but feel a sense of sadness, or maybe just feel odd. There's this one thing that you use a paper money. I don't recall which amount, $1, $5, or which. But if you fold it just the right way, it looks so much like the Twin Towers burning that it gives me the chills.
Right now, my house is quiet and I was also remembering 9/11 and the horror, the loss of life.... we will never, ever forget.
