hi11.gif  Hitme2 is off avg's potential virus list as of this morning. I received the same email from avg as I posted before. I noticed I had a bigger then usual update from avg so hopefully them morons have fixed this issue with badgehelp.com, CNET  downloads. We will see  slap1.gif  I would hope avg is getting tired of my reports of their screw ups to them  giggle2.gif

One day I may d/l AVG, just for entertainment...or probably not? les, you seem to be the point person to help anyone here with that AV program...great job!.....and damn I'm so sorry....I still bid zero for your AV program! Norton noticed the cnet thing a few days ago, I had no issues updating a program as a result. I hope that helps the BH folks know that there are a few AV companies that can learn.......most people here also know that these d/l issues are new, there are NO viruses attached, and perhaps this crap is even instigated by pogo and EA. All we would like, is the chance, to earn a badge. I'll get off my soapbox now and wish good luck to BH, Homer, les, and the very old person here that helped me get a badge in bridge, and cracked me up big time a few years ago.

Upon doing my nightly scan tonight avg found that the program for turbo 21 (hitme2) was a virus DAMN them fools.
I have sent them a copy of the file so they should have this fixed soon I HOPE. I have explained to avg that all programs from badgehelp.com are virus free and CNET certified as to be virus free in a not so settle way. I hope they get my point.  swear2.gif

How can something be a "false alarm"? Either something IS a virus or it's not. If these idiotic AV companies get tipped off that something could be bad, they should test it. I am sick of this "shoot and ask questions later" mentality these idiots have. I haven't run ANY AV in over 10 years. I wouldn't trust my computer in the hands of a company that doesn't even test things and labels programs as viruses under "suspicion".

What a bunch of morons.

That's the problem. They are lazy and unwilling to devote the proper resources to classify things correctly.

Thank You LES, for the info. I did what you said & downloaded ThunderPopper cheat & when i went back into pogo i bought up game & Cheat went wild, saying Connected, disconnected. So to close it i had 2 shut down puter. it wouldnt even let me close it. Oh btw, Les is my x-husbands name LOL  is pogo crazy these days ?? or AVG or both. I didnt have this problem on my Windows XP, but i also downloaded 9 other cheats before pogo updated & now having problems with Thun derpopper. what a nighmare.    hi11.gif

MsMissy I know what you mean I was having a major problem also when i disabled avg so i could update my cheats right after i enabled avg. Avg on my next scan would find the cheats as viruses and would not let me access them at all. I was going nuts. I'm just glad that avg acted fast after I sent them a copy of the so called virus to solve this issue.

email from AVG

Dear Sir/Madam,

thank you for your email.

Unfortunately, the current virus database version may detect the mentioned virus on some legitimate applications. We can confirm that it is a false alarm. We would like to inform you that the false positive will be removed in the next Definitions update. Please update your AVG and if a new Definitions update was downloaded, check whether the file is still detected.

If you need to restore deleted files from AVG Virus Vault you can do it this way:
- Open AVG user interface.
- Choose "Virus Vault" option from the "History" menu.
- Locate the file that was incorrectly removed and select it (one click).
- Click on the "Restore" button.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

     Best regards,

     Petr Sevcik

MsMissy if you go to advanced setting you will see the temporarily disable avg protection thingy just click on it and your set  tumbsup.gif  But once you enable it the next time you do a scan it will tell you you have a virus with the cheat programs you have updated. I have no problem with the older versions just the newest versions of the cheat programs But the old one won't work i noticed last night popfu won't work and avg say's the new version is a virus and you can't access them at all unless you disable avg while you play which sucks.

Thanks for info JustDon Avg I hope will get this issue squared away but we will see I'm still waiting for them to get back with me. I've been with them like 7 yrs and this is the worst and first issue I've had with them and it really has me mad. My avg isn't up till march 1012 so if i do switch to Nortons hopefully they will give me some cash back  or I guess I could put my license up for a contest if anyone would want to try to win it something like guess a number between 1 and 1000 closest to the number can have it  beer11.gif

les, I've used Norton for years and they have improved it a great deal over time. It no longer is the resource hog it once was, yet it's old rep still follows it everywhere. I do know it's very easy to disable Norton if I have a problem with a BH download, and I don't know if you have tried this with AVG yet, but I also install the program before I re-enable Norton...it's always worked here. Good luck.

I used to use the AVG free version. I switched to the free version of Avira and haven't had a single issue. Virus free and haven't had it interfere with any program I've ever run.
