But yes, very expensive lesson on both sides.
I hate big expensive weddings with tons of guests, 5 tier cake, live band, photographers, open bar, catered food, 500 guests. Every wedding I've been to that has been done in that style has ended in utter disaster and I've been to about 15 of those in the last 5 or 6 years. Out of those 15, only one of those couples are still together.
Mine was a chapel type wedding that cost less than $2000. Our minister that married us was a 500 pound black man dressed as Elvis who cracked open a beer halfway through and started singing heartbreak hotel in a dead on Elvis voice. 16 guests, short simple and to the point. 13 years later, we are still together.

The wedding was probably just for the publicity, money, etc. I can't believe that they've suckered so many people in & made all the money they've made these past couple years.
