Everybody has already said the things I could say. But, I do understand your pain. My cats are like my children (I have a TINY apartment with 2 cats), and the cats at my parents house are the same. I love them, and they're always there for you, no matter how much they annoy you at other times. I am so sorry :(

- April 06, 2005, 03:35:36 PMSo very sorry to hear that. I had a beloved kitty (polidactil 6 toed) cat get malled to death by a pit bull last year. She was pregnant with 4 kittens, none of which survived the trauma. Unfortunatly the pit bull owner still has not claimed responsibility. I think that she (Mittens) was trying to save the life of my youngest son whom was in a car seat at the time. I was trying to get my keys out to get into the house, as the dog is charging onto my porch, and out came mittens. She is my hero, not sure what would have happened if she weren't there to save the baby from his relentless jaws.

- April 06, 2005, 01:58:42 PMI love the rainbow bridge idea....very touching....I went into my picture folder last night and thank god I have quite a few pics of bootsie....take pictures folks....you never know what or when something might happen to your pets....I am going to have one of the pictures blown up for the hubby and frame it....in time when I know he can handle it.
Bootsies brother (my cat) hasnt left my side all day....its weird but I think he knows I need him....and maybe he needs me too.
I printed out many emails and posts and stuck them in hubbys lunchbox this morning ....so he knows people care and understand....I think it will help him a lot....thanks everyone!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

- April 05, 2005, 09:46:33 PMI am sooooo sorry to hear about ur kitty :'( I myself have a big fat grey cat, and since my hubby and I have no chilldren, that cat (and we have a dog) are our children---u go and cry all u want!!!! I know i would be :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(, call me crazy, but my cat drives me nuts, but I love him like he was my own baby, so I feel ur pain!!! I said a lil prayer for Boots and I know he is running around kitty heaven right now!!! Best wishes.

- April 05, 2005, 09:20:21 PMThanks everyone....I tryed to be strong and not cry....told myself it was just a cat....but the tears came...cause he was more than a cat he was a very loveable companion....gonna miss him...we still have his brother and my daughters cat (who looks almost exactly like Boots) and of course the new dog......the dog is gonna help my hubby a lot....they have been getting close and I am sooooo glad I got her now that this has happened.
