I think you're right.  The older games that still give tokens will be giving them for no reason?  What else can we do with the tokens?

I don't know if this is totally correct, but it seems to me that since we don't earn tokens for playing the newer games they are changing the mini mall.  Items that were purchased with tokens will now be free.  At least that how it looks lately.  But don't hold me to that.
Gem items will stay the same as that is how Pogo makes money.
