I watch some baking shows and it does take more time and precision to make these.  I didn't know the ingredients were costly.  They're supposed to be a real treat.

I haven't either, but I would like to try one after reading what Google has to say about them :

Macarons are more expensive than the average sweet treat because of the costly ingredients and the time and expertise involved in making it.
