i have noticed that more often than not.  what i have found is that as long as it is in your badge album, you dont have to worry.  the next time  you log into pogo b4 the challenge week is up, it should show it as completed.

Pogo had server problems yesterday.  You may get the badge back or you may have to do it all over again.

When logging in this morning I noticed that it said that I have not completed "Shoot the moon", I completed that yesterday morning so I went and checked and there is was in my album and I am even showing it off - as my favorite badge.  What the heck?
