Guest Passes now expire in 5 days - Since the system now gives you unused Guest Passes back, we shortened the expiration date to 5 days. The vast majority of Guest Passes get used within 2-3 days, so this gives your friend a decent amount of time to use the Pass, without making you wait too long to get it back if something goes wrong.
Here's an example:
Let's say you sent a Guest Pass to the screenname 'ClubPogoPlayer'. ClubPogoPlayer has 5 days to use it before it expires. If they don't use it, either because of technical problems or because they're on vacation/out of town, the guest pass will be given back to you automatically after the 5 days. You will then receive a Message on your Messages page letting you know that ClubPogoPlayer did not use the Guest Pass, so it's been added back to your inventory.

- September 11, 2005, 03:25:14 AMA pogo name can only use one guest pass. Its one pass per name for the lifetime of the name.
