This one causes me no problems. I have IE, XP Sun Java and I did no adjustments to screen resolution, fonts or anything.

Would you please try to run this auto in Internet Explorer and see if that helps?  If not, could you switch the java over and see if that makes a difference?

I am running XP home
AOL
no firewalls
i did the whatever with the smooth fonts that you say to do
dial up
sun java
screen resolution is 1024 x 768

what else do y'all need to know?
high colour (32 bit)

it worked a few weeks ago (trial version) but the paid version does not...it sits there and says something to the effect that it cannot find the cards or something...sort of aggravated right now...let me see what it says, for sure.

I started the game before the program...  I cannot get it to begin...and as I said, a couple of weeks ago it went like gangbusters!
