no we dont angel just trying to help

I didn't mean it against you guys, I meant it about myself.  LOL  I just don't know why I can't get that window.  Is there another way?

Go to "My Computer"  then double click "Control Panel" and then double click "Display" that will bring up same box.
OR
Click "Start" then click "Control Panel" then "Display"

Thank you, but I get the same thing.  It's ok.  But thank you for all of your help.

I have windows xp and this is what I do:

1. right click on open area on desktop and left click on properties.
2.  Click the tab at the top of the box that opens that say appearance.
3.  Click the box that say effects (in the right corner) I've pointed the arrow towards it.

4.  When the next box opens, look at the second option down and make sure that is unclicked.  It is the one that says "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts.

Hope this helps out some

your are doing it on the desk  nothing is up right just making sure make sure
click right on desk top then it will open should have these at the top where the tabs are
theme,desktop,screensaver,apperance and setting

I know what you are talking about as I have seen it on another computer I had.  But no that doesn't come up on this one.  I just get theme, and no tabs on top.

I am not seeing anything that says Appearance.  All I have coming up is theme.  I am using Windows XP.

look 3 over from the theme it will say appearance tap

There are no tabs.  A theme box comes up and that is it.  I click Properties, and it says Display Properties.  Then it has the Theme.  That is all.  >:(
