Wow thanks for all the responses from my inquiry.
They have gone away for the weekend and I won't be able to get down there now untill the end of the week
I will check to see what he has for a blocker.

Like I said... If he got a popup blocker though most of 'em that are worth their mustard will allow you to white-list a site; meaning he can use a site like pogo.com as normal once he white-lists it... If you can give me (us) the name of the program I (we) can probably figure out how to white-list the pogo site so that he doesn't have to hit the ctrl button every time.

There are MANY different types of popup blockers so its impossible for us to say exactly which one you have unless you tell us what programs he's got on his computer. 8) You say that these problems started a week ago..well maybe it was somthing that "BIL" installed or downloaded (at the begining of that week) that had a free popup blocker already built in..so you might want to check to see if he installed anything lately. If "BIL" did (install somthing)you can just come back here and tell us what program and we'll see if we can help to turn off the popup blocker (if you want)  8)

As for the "ctrl" thing, see popup blockers know that there are web sities that have things that popup when you click on a link and as in pogos case a popup comes up when you click on the room link to play a game and when you press "ctrl" its telling the popup blocker to not block the next popup that comes up. So therfore you get to play the game and everyone is happy 8)

tell him to hold CTRL while clicking on a button taht says "play" in a game such as pool

I'm just guessing but it might be because of a popup blocker that the screen did not come up. ;)

thanks Fatkid for your help I appreciated it.
When he went into play pool he could pick a table and than it would not open the window so that he could play
so I went to their chat there and a nice gentleman said to hit the ctrl while the game was loading and wola he was back in business and playing pool against my hubby this morning .....oh life's little pleasures.
Again I thank you for your interest.
Any suggestions as to what happened as to why now does he have to push the ctrl button?

No rush on my part... But if it is a client side problem (a problem with his computer) that info would be most helpful in figuring out what may be going no... So next time you get to chit-chat just see if you can find out, so that if there is a conflict in his 'puter we can get it fixed...

funny that you mention Potty mouth about 2 months ago he was banned for 24 hours from using pogo but he is not a Potty mouth...
I have been on line and he didnt' konw it and he is a gentleman on line. He hasn't got the nerve to tell anyone off or anything like that
I will tell him to create a dummy account and see it that helpss.
Any other suggestions...I woked fine and than suddenly this starts.

BIL?

That sounds more like a Pogo server side problem of connecting with other peers...  Could be though too that some settings in his computer aren't letting him connect...
Need:

Firewalls?
Routers?
Any changes he made when the problem occured...
If nothing else he can do a system restore to a time when it was connecting up to the server properly and see if that fixes it... Also have him try creating a dupe account on pogo just to test out a different screen name and see if he can connect with that... Maybe he has a ban on his SN or something for having a potty mouth ???  Who knows... Pogo can and does do weird things...

My BIL just phoned and told me that for the past week he has not been able to view friends on line in pogo or been able to play any games with other people...but he is able to play games just not with anybody else
Any suggestions...?
He is running XP
