I believe that most of the autos do not work with ME.  There are some ME  users who have had some luck with some autos...but I am not sure which ones....

Thanks for the directions mama, but I don't have that option at all. I only have 16 bit 24 bit 256 and one other I can't recall, but no 32 :( It's okay, I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

the tab next to your apperance tab where you changed the smooth edges is called settings go there to change your color to 32 bit you must have it for your color :)

Okay, I did what was asked, well, I disabled smooth fonts, but I can't make colors 32 because I don't have that option.

Minimize all applications so that you can see the desktop.
Right-click anywhere on the desktop background (not on an icon).
In the resulting pop-up menu, choose Properties. This will open the Display Properties dialog box.
In the Display Properties dialog box, select the Appearance tab.
In the Appearance tab, click the Effects button (lower right).
In the Effects dialog box, check the "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" check box to enable font smoothing and uncheck it to disable font smoothing.
