If you have that feature checked in your profile, it only notifies you when someone replies to your posts.  If you come here and read them and don't post again, I don't think it will notify you again.  I'm not sure, but I think that is how it works.

 :o I get email when a reply is made here on the forum. Then it will just stop notifing me for some reason. I like getting notified.
