my granny used to make this.very simple and very yummy.

1 box of yellow cake mix
1 can of cherry pie filling
1 can of crushed pineapple
2 sticks of butter

pour cherry pie filling in bottom of cake pan.next pour crushed pineapple on top.after that, evenly dump the dry cake mix(yes dry)over the pineapple.then you melt your butter and pour it evenly over the cake mix.stick it in the oven for about 20 minutes.

be careful, this is one dessert that will make you wanna slap your grandma.
Don't care much for the title :-X but that cake sounds yummy, I love anything with cherries in it, thanks O0

you can also do

(bottom) any fruit you want
(middle)  1 box yellow or white cake mix
(top)      1 can soda sprite / strawberry / orange your choice some flavor that would go with the fruit you select
