This program is doing the same with me. I can't win any games when playing Canasta Master.
I had the same problem with the error and now that problem is gone it's  just that I can't win any of the games.

I don't suggest you use the auto to try and increase your rating points.

i finally got my canasta masta to work but it will not win any games... my rating went from nearly 1800 to 1535.   i watch it give canastas away and not make ones it could.  could i have gotten a bad program?

it says its running fine and it comes up... it just doesnt make any moves and has an error code that says error 42 cant find game window

i did the delete and reboot but it did not make it work.  i get the game up and running and then i click the start button and then it says to use the icon down by the clock and when i click that it says error 42 cannot find game window. i feel like its something i am doing wrong .  my canasta masta says its fully functional

Delete the program reboot your pc and redownload again and see if that helps.
