- May 15, 2008, 07:17:12 AMIE7 is miserable! It's like AOL 7-9 were. Slowly but surely they started taking over your computer and not giving you the opportunity to take back control. I know that sounds dramatic, but it's true! By the time 9 rolled out, they had taken away the option to not allow AOL to load automatically when Windows starts. You have to go into the control panel and manage it there. AOL was writing itself into so many different places even their own techs couldn't help you remove it.
IE7 is the same way and with each new rollout, you'll have fewer and fewer options and less and less control.
Sorry you're having these problems, Runner. Hopefully it will be resolved....
Now, just a thought..... are you sure that it's IE and not you're AV or firewall? One of my McAfee versions a few years back, when doing an auto update would turn off the firewall and then turn it back on and set to default settings.

Another reason I stayed with IE6. Microsoft products tend to have a mind of their own. >:D
My bane of existence is that my browser windows keep changing their size when I open it. Sometimes it's full-size and sometimes it is smaller; dunno why that happens but it's really annoying.

It really sucks.
(and even screws up autos, as when the popup is blocked it puts up that little window and disables the play of that window)
