I have a pretty good answer. I am guessing it is so someone cannot register and start spamming everyone. I belong to a yahoo group specifically for female drummers so we can keep up with each other and meet new ones. I get spam in there from new registerees all the time from "sexy women in russia" or "biker girls" who want to meet us - I am thinking they do not even notice the name of the group or they think all female drummers must be gay. I am not saying there are not gay female drummers  - it is just not the point of the group. Did a google on the particular email address and they had posted in golfing amputees and autistic children groups so I am pretty sure this is why we have to have 25 posts to PM. party8a.gif  dang....hunted for the best smilie and Homer beat me to the post!
