Okay another shot in the dark here for you to try.  try Mozilla firefox browser.  mozilla.com. IE on Vista has been acting up for me. Firefox is compabilite with the autos and its free.  Alot a people here use it for double browsing . Try downlaoding the autos through that and see if it works.  For the last few weeks I have been trouble shooting IE with no luck. I my have to remove it and get a fresh copy. Hope this works if not I dont know what to tell you. I maginified your vid up to 400% and tried restetting my pc to what I thought yours were and could not duplicate the result. Also make sure your firewall is allowing the programs to connect.

I turned off Aero and that didn't change anything. One thing I noticed is that when I go to install the program, it comes up as a binary file instead of an exe file. Could that be the problem and if so, how can I change it?

Thanks so much for all the advice so far. This has been extremely frustrating.

Aero mode wreaks havoc on many things not real sure why Microsoft even put it in the programming.

Shot in the dark here but is vista running in Aero mode

That was what it looked like. You need to go into Personalize and click on Windows Vista Basic in the Desktop. I remember that causing some sort of problem but I don't know if it was this one.

The only other thing I can say is to do a clean install of your Vista and see if that helps.

No luck. It's absolutely bizarre. I haven't made any changes at all. The day they all stopped working, nothing happened that was out of the ordinary.  crying10.gif

I was just thinking that, temp turn off your AV and/or firewall while downloading and installing and see if that works.

Have you or anyone that uses your computer installed any antivirus, spyware or malware software recently?

I tried installing as the admin from the desktop with the same results. I'm using Windows Vista SP1.

It does look like an admin problem. But without knowing your windows version can't say for sure.

By any chance once you have the exe file on your desktop did you right click it and run as admin?

Sorry but I don't have an answer for you.

Something on your pc is preventing the installation from completing

You may need to reinstall the OS if you can't get it to work
