MOM'S DIABETIC APPLE BUTTER

5 lbs. sliced, peeled apples.
2 1/2 cups Splenda, don't add till about done and check to see if needed.
2 tsp. cinnamon.
1 1/2 tsp allspice.
1/4 cup water.
dash salt.

Combine all ingredients in a crockpot/slowcooker and cook on high for 10 - 12 hours.
If apples are very tart you may want to add more sweetener.

Some slow cookers cook faster so you may need to adjust time and temperature.
If there are lumps in apple mix after cooking use mixer to whip smooth.
You may have to do this with the gala apples but probably not with the Roma's.

You don't have to cook for 10-12 straight hours, you can stop and start it back if you need to.
I found the Roma's didn't have to cook as long as the gala's but just judge for yourself.
