Thanks, Harley, I'll see what I can do.  The nice thing about Outlook Ex was that I could gather ALL my emails from Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail and my ISP in one place.  I'll work it out.  The POP3 and STMP stuff doesn't thwart my efforts - it's just determining what email/ISP will allow what and setting it up in the most convenient way.  Thanks, again.

Squid hotmail is the only one I found that does not allow forwarding.  gmail and aol do for free yahoo makes you pay but it is a small amount. I got so many email address I just found it easier to forward everything  to one address.  Your isp and other email places look under options and look for mail forwarding set it up from there.  It can get a little dicey if you need to enter the pop address but you are smart and I know you can do it.   Most times you dont have to enter pops just forward the emails. When it comes to Hotmail you can forward email to hotmail but you cant forward a hotmail address anywhere

Probably why our interfaces are different. I always login from hotmail.com
That is how I do it too.

Hey Jarjar  Im with you I just use my ISPs mail service and have all other emails forwarded to it.  And I could only get Live Mail to work on 1 of my puters  Techies couldnt figure that one out  so I gave up and did any with it
How'dja do that, Harley?  Some emails won't forward to another.  They will accept other emails but won't send.  Also, what happens if you respond to a forwarded email?  Does it show the correct email addy in the sender info?  I need to revamp my email system now and don't know what to do.  All info appreciated.

Hiya everyone,
I FINALLY heard back from Microsoft (after 6 days) and am glad to say that I wasn't blind after all, as there is NO more  'option'  button to get the MSN/Hotmail back.

Dear Tammy,

Thank you for writing to Windows Live Mail Technical Support. My name is Amber and I understand that you want to know how to get back to MSN/Hotmail instead of the Windows Live Mail for accessing your xxxxxx.com account. I know how important it is for you to have your concern addressed immediately.

We appreciate your feedback about the layout of the Windows Live Mail. If you do not want to use the e-mail program for accessing your e-mail, please do not start or launch the application from your computer. You can access your MSN/Hotmail instead by launching an Internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) and go to www.hotmail.com.

You are valuable at Windows Live and we look forward to providing you with consistent and effective service. We appreciate your input and involvement in our Windows Live products.

Sincerely,
Amber

They messed with my Outlook Express, too.  I hate it now.  I have a number of email addresses I have to watch for various reasons and my Outlook Ex did it perfectly.  Now it's all messy, darn them.  I'm afraid to try the Windows Live, which is an option for me.  Who likes it and why?  Thanks
