allrighty....I found the problem...somehow I clicked a box hiding the save to here...I clicked save and it brought a small menu box up,,and I had to click a little menu that said save..so I clicked that and ..low and behold..desktop appeared..I chose that..and it DL'ed to it..

I want  to thanks all of you..as I have said in the past..this is one mighty find forum...I wouldn't think about going anyplace else..

You never did say what browser you were using....so, I cant help you there.  Another thing with Vista is, if you are unsure WHERE your file went when you download, you can use the search button under the windows start. Then you can drag and drop it to your desktop.

Thank you friends..however...I tried to DL a game from spintop just a few minutes ago..I clicked save..started to ask me where..and it disappeared..and I had to start one and select RUN...I don't know,,I am about to give this comp a toss..and buy a new one with Windows 7 in it...lol...but..this comps only 2 1/2 years old..and still works ok...lol

Are you using Firefox?  Because anything I download goes straight to my "downloads" folder.  If you are...you can go to tools..options...main....then from there is the option to choose where you want your downloads to go.  tumbsup.gif

I just usually pull the folder or item to the desktop from whichever file it is in. Hold the cursor over it and drag it anywhere on the desktop and it should line it up for you.

ok...I know I can be a pain..but..after downloading vista..I am finding I can't uninstall it..so I am stuck..however..I am finding that I cant download anything to my desktop anymore..where the devil are the DL's going..I am having to just click "RUN" every time. I want to DL them back to the desktop...any Ideas..also my uncle icons wont show up after selecting place icon on desktop...
