He's a nice, pileated woodpecker!  We don't have many of them around here.  We have a number of other species but not pileated.

I'm not sorry to see him go! I even tried closing the window and that maybe reduced the noise by 10% .. that sound went through anything.

I found a picture I took of him on my old iPhone (July 26th, 2018)

This little guy reminds me of the woodpecker that used to wake me up at 6am all summer long a few years back.

Of course he just had to choose the aging electrical pole right on my property. It now has been replaced with a new pole, and I haven't seen him back since.
