For anyone doing the Peggle challenge by hand, you can get 4-8 green pegs per game if you play the in-game event, level 1.  Just keep aiming for the green pegs with each shuffle.  Be sure to lose the round (don't get all the orange pegs).  You can then replay the level and accumulate green pegs.  You do not have to win the level to get green pegs toward your goal.  Good luck.
