Jade,his computer may not have enough power to run the XP upgrade for $99.00 that you suggested.  If it does, it will probably barely do it. He will probably be dissatisfied with the results.  I suggest a new computer and not adding to an old computer for the difference in cost.

Why "upgrade" for $99.00 when Dell will sell you a whole new computer for $299.00, after rebate?
