My modem is from Brighthouse, it is coming out from the wall with a catv cable to it and then my modem is hooked to my Linksys router which was pain to configure because of AOL's picky software.  So I'm really afraid to mess with it.  The UPS did come with software but I thought that was only to tell my computer how to close down software when power outtage occurs, so I didn't install it first.  The instructions were bare minimum with no instructions on when to install the software or anything which is crazy.  Thanks alot Jeffer - you are always at the ready for my computer tech. questions.

I'm just taking a stab here, but I'd put the UPS between the Modem and the Router.  I'm guessing your cable company is paying for the modem....

Did you have any software with it?  Did you run it first?

Hi, this is not a auto technical question- so I hope this is the right spot for it.  I hope one of you computer guru's can help me.  I just purchased a cyberpower 800 UPS and wanted to hook up my broadband cable to it.  The instructions just said - out from wall into UPS- out from UPS into modem.  Well I did that and nothing happens (I wish they would have drawn me a picture) plus I have a linksys router hooked to the Toshiba modem too.  Should I get a different UPS or give up on it all together?  I would love to be able to stay online during these constant surges I get.  You know country living and the electric company are not working together.  HELP!!! Thanks again :-*
