for Winblows XP right click desktop, Properities, Apperance, Effects and uncheck "Use the following methods to smooth edges of screen fonts"

In general we advise that option to be turned off but go with what works for you. ;)

Not sure if it's the same on all systems, but I use XP, and if ya go to the Control Panel, and click on System Properties, and then on the Advanced tab, under the heading "Performance", click on the Settings button there, it will have a list of options under the Custom heading.

I'm not sure which is better, to have it or not, and it may differ on several things. I have mine checked, which works better for me, but may not for others.

i have seen on here to  turn it on, elsewhere to turn it off. Which should I do?
