Here are some things that will help:
1) Operating system (Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP etc)
2) Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, Mozilla, Opera etc)
3) Color setting (24 bit, 32 bit etc)
4) Screen resolution (800x600, 1024x768)
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts checked or unchecked
6) What Java you are using
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program
You get the idea the more information the better.

I'm new to trying out any of these programs, the first one I have tried is the Flanks free trial. I downloaded it fine, I can open it but I seem to be stuck with it repeating the same 3 lines over and over in it's status area I assume. It is saying the following:
Connect type 1
Please wait...
Please start Phlinx in your browser
(then repeats over and over)
This just keeps repeating even after I've opened the game and it's ready to play... If I try to have another program window open, it will keep the phlinx one on top, so it does seem to be doing something, just not playing the game. :p
OS is WinXP Professional
451 MHz, 256 RAM Pentium III

Screen Resolution » 1024x768
Color Depth » 16 bit
Smooth Fonts* » Disabled
Maybe my computer is too old and crappy to use these programs, but if anyone has a suggestion on what the problem might be I'd appreciate it.
I Also tried the 3 word whomp ones and 2 of those didn't play the game either, I haven't gotten any error messages from any of these so I'm not sure why they aren't working. I was able to get the word whomp ww one, where I just put in the word and it came up with matches, then manually entering all the words to work for me, but the auto ones didn't work.
