It was almost as bad as when a woodpecker was in my neighborhood a few years back.

Nothing spoils a good story like the arrival of an eyewitness.

What a beautiful bird!  If I lived there, I'd put a picture of a great horned owl in the window!  That will keep him away!   

I had a neighbor who had a window AC unit.  A woodpecker fell in love with this AC unit and would constantly peck at the coils/vents on the outside of the unit.  Imagine the sound on metal!

That would have made on heck of a racket!
